Set-up in our workshop, this violin, is a good choice, subtly different from the Asian counterpart. The Paganini Conservatoire class violin is an excellent for a student progressing in the art of violin playing. We think it is easily the best violin in this price range. We at Omega Music have been waiting for some time for a violin with these specifications. Namely: The violin has the correct measurements and neck angle. It is made from fine materials. It has a very tight close grain spruce top and refined figured maple neck, back and sides. (See images) Quality ebony fingerboard and pegs. The violin is precisely carved making the instrument lighter than most other student violins (see discussion on violin weightings). The varnish is delightfully applied by hand and thinly, unlike many similar student instruments which often have thick coats of nitro-cellulose lacquer. This outfit has a good Brasilwood bow (fully mounted) and a oblong case with provision for two bows and generous compartment for shoulder rest etc.
