A gem of a book.
This is a little gem of a book. Liz Rideal has the flair and insight of an artist and a teacher's way with words. Her choice of paintings is not predictable and she homes in on the revealing details. She is extremely knowledgeable about the history of art and techniques of composition. Browsing her book, which is full of excellent colour reproductions, is sheer delight. It will make you want to head for the nearest art gallery.
