Good mild flavor and pleasing texture.
These are really different from what I was expecting but still pleasing. Products like this used to be a lot denser and required a bit more chewing. The way these are freeze dried makes them like tiny slightly dense puffed rice. Flavor is spot on for natto, maybe a bit mild. So if you are looking for the super funky natto flavor, you probably need to stick with fresh/frozen, but if you just want a reminder in a quick dry stock handful, this is your ticket!

The cotton candy of the natto world
This was the first natto I tried, and I thought it was thoroughly disgusting in ways that defy description in the English language. But, no choice; I'm taking it for the mk7 because I have abnormal, extremely early onset osteoporosis, and I'm under orders to get all the "bone" vitamins from food sources on top of the mountainous piles of supplements I'm also taking. So I landed on just grabbing a couple handfuls straight out of the bag and chomping on it dry just to get it down every day. Now, while that description might sound like it wouldn't quite warrant this five-star review... hear me out. Because I recently purchased a different brand of batto that was larger, for a better price. Natto is natto, right? NATTO SO FAST. When the new bag arrived, I performed my now-usual osteoporotic self-flagellative routine and grabbed a handful, popped it in my mouth, started chewing, and.... gagged it right back out. It was... it was... I can't even describe how it was. Ick. ICK. How can natto, which is already indescribably bad, be made indescribably worse?? However that is, the cheaper natto brand figured out how to do it. I can only speculate, such as wondering if they perhaps fermented THEIR natto in cat urine in an effort to improve the taste, but the attempt sadly backfired and made a bad thing worse. Downside: Wasted money on that other natto, and natto ain't cheap. Upside: Made THIS brand of natto taste like carnival cotton candy by comparison and I'm sorry I wasn't appropriately appreciative before. I've left the other bag of natto sitting next to it on the counter so every time I grab this one, I'm reminded to be grateful as I choke it down.

Very tiny bag but the natto is good
As good as non-freeze dried natto. I usually eat regular natto but after this rehydrates it is no different. My only complaint is the size of the bag which is tiny.

Tiny package and incredibly overpriced
Significantly smaller than I was expecting for the price, only slightly larger than my hand and even rehydrated gave very little. Was hoping to find a way to store bulk natto but for the price it is not worth it at all. You can buy fresh/frozen natto at any Asian store for less than a third of the price. Taste was okay, not great compared to regular natto, but that’s to be expected for something freeze dried. Would be worth the purchase if the price wasn’t so exhorbitant.

not really worth it
You get very little of this for the price. Smells and tastes fine. Just not sure it's worth getting again.

Great snack!
We love the taste of these freeze dried natto! The only problem is that they do not offer larger sizes. I do eat the fresh natto though with a little wasabi and soy sauce for the health benefits but these snack ones are great for trips and backpacking , picnics etc.

Great way to get Vitamin K
Was advised to consume more vitamin K so my research led to this brand of NATTO from Japan. I watched videos of folks adding water to rehydrate but it didn't look or sound appealing to me. I took another reviewer's advise and just scooped a dry teaspoon serving straight into my mouth. Wow. Actually like the taste; it reminds me of puffed wheat cereal, taste wise. I take 2 teaspoons a day, which is about the listed single serving size of 10 grams - 50% of my daily vitamin K. Subscribe & Save cuts the cost a bit, so that helps!
