2 shelf speakers, about a 20 ft 2 cond wire from right to left speaker, a 120ac power cube and cables to provide power to the right speaker. A wireless remote control, and a manual. I believe that to be the entire list, but I may have missed something small. All of the electronics is in ghe right speaker. There are plugs on the right speaker to accept inputs from two audio inputs, spdif fiber, and coax audio. You can select between these inputs or bluetooth with buttons on the remote control, as well as mute or power on/off the speakers.

do i need a built in pre-amp turntable for these?

I bought this one. Are there any product which can make it have better sound quality?

If you want to pay an a and a leg for speakers, there may be better souning ones. I bought them for a bedroom system, not my main entertainment system. Flat screens used to have ok sound, but know due to the almost "framelss" style they are very bad These speakers, greatly enhanced the sound for my Samsung flat screen. I bought them because they had an optical input, which I needed as that is the only audio output on the tv.
