This first illustrated Bible storybook from one of the world's top Bible scholars draws the connections across all of God's very good story, His Word. This practical Bible guide shares all your family's favorite stories, plus some that may be new, combining a theologian's expertise with engaging narratives that will draw kids into the good news of the world's greatest, truest tale. God's Big Picture Bible Storybook is for children ages 6 to 10; is the first children's book written by scholar and professor Tom (N.T.) Wright; identifies story parallels across the Bible that show kids that all of God's Word matters; includes 140 short stories, each vividly illustrated by award-winning artist Helena Perez Garcia; and shows the intention behind God's stories and the hope for salvation they provide. N.T. Wright wants his readers to discover the many surprising ways in which one Bible story echoes another, and how different stories contribute to the one very good and very big story of God's love for creation--a story that unfolds over the centuries, until at last it is fully revealed in the life and teaching of Jesus. Young readers will be fascinated and delighted as they hear the echoes and spot the visual links between the pictures and the stories. Not only that, they will be thrilled to discover that this is not just a story involving people who lived long ago: it's a living and enduring story, a story in which God invites them to be involved as well! Review: Great kids Bible with nice illustrations - I wanted a Bible to read to a wide age of kids before bed. Often I find the stories of other options are really dumbed down or miss the point entirely (as a pastor, Iโm a bit sensitive to this). Overall, I really like this Bible by NT Wrights. The stories are all basically 1 spread of pages, have nice illustrations, and accurately represent the Scripture. My kids were 6, 9, and 12 when I got this. It was slightly underage for the 12 year old, but the others connected well with it, and I like it. I personally think this is a great choice for reading to your kids or letting them read to themselves and being able to understand what theyโre reading. Review: Well written and beautiful childrenโs Bible - If you read this childrenโs bible, you can really tell that itโs written by a scholar and theologian. There are concepts and topics conveyed in this bible that Iโve never encountered in other childrenโs bible, like the Levitical sacrifices, the stories of the prophets, like Ezekiel. My kids and I have yet to read through the entire thing, but so far, I love it. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and my five year old loves flipping through it. Itโs definitely geared toward elementary age, as there are more complex topics and stories included. I think itโs a great resource for any parent wanting to impart to their children a deep understanding of the biblical worldview. One great detail is that in every story there is a โlinkโ to other stories, to show how the stories and themes are connected. Buy this book, itโs great!

Wonderfull Illustrations and Presentation.
I purchased six different Children's Bibles, but this was definitely the best! My 5 year old grandson loved the colorful illustrations, simple yet detailed and realistic. He chose this book as his favorite, largely due to the illustrations. Each story had just the right amount of information for a young child, contained on one page per story with one illustration on the facing page. Many stories are connected to other stories in the Bible with colorful endnotes, offering more information for an older child, or even adults. The entire book has the foundation of a leading Bible Scholar, N.T. Wright, who presents the content as God's big story. I was delighted with the number of Bible stories included, since half the book covers the New Testament. This 290 page book includes six maps and a detailed index. I highly recommend for children 3-9 years old.

Love this Bible!
I love reading this with my kids. A brilliant version of the bible for kids. It sustains and themes while making it palatable for kids, yet it does not rob the scriptures of their potency. Highly recommend.

Far Better Than Most Bible Story Books
I sent this book as a Christmas present to great-grandchildren. I think their parents will enjoy it as much as the kids do. When you open the book, there is a one-page story on the left page, and a beautiful color, full-page picture to accompany the story on the right page. The book goes through both the old testament and the new testament stories. And on each story page there is a little note that tells you where the story is located in the Bible. N. T. Wright and Helena Garcia did a wonderful job of putting this book together. It is informative and entertaining both, and really great for all ages! I like it so much that I ordered one for myself! Really a great buy, too, when most of the Bible story books have a very few stories and pictures in them compared to God's BIG Picture Bible Storybook.

Best Children's Bible I have ever found!
I have several children's Bibles, and all of them have flaws that have caused me to hesitate using them with the children at church or even my own grandchildren. (Biggest complaint: how many fair-skinned, blond-haired people populate ancient Israel in these authors' minds!) I am a fan of N.T. Wright's other books and theology, so I was happy to take a chance on this book, and even with my high expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. I abolutely love that the stories reference the actual scriptural citations, for further study and reflection, and each one includes a question to engage reflection and application to our lives today. Too often children's Bibles treat the stories like a collection of Aesop's Fables - fun stories with hopefully a moral to learn, but no real connection to our real world lives today. This book goes beyond that, making the stories relevant. Better than that, it keeps the stories connected, reminding us that the Bible is comprised of many different books, but altogether tells one grand story of God and God's great love for all of Creation. The book is high quality, pictures are vibrant and beautiful and reflect more accurate ethnicity and diversity. All told, I have already recommended it to friends and will be suggesting it to church members as well (and maybe the Christian Ed dept. can finally ditch the antiquated children's Bibles that reflect only the white American perspective). Well done, Mr. Wright!!

Engaging, easy to understand, geologically rich. Enjoyed the pictures
Easy to understand and yet theologically rich. I love reading this with my son. I also love how the characters actually look like ethnically appropriate.

This pastor loves it
So happy to have added this to my collection of children's Bibles. The connections between the stories and God's big picture have been so helpful. And what other children's bible has the book of James included!
