Simple enough and works, just provide your own tubing, and some DIY creativity to secure it down.
I bought it to make a car camping "faucet" pulling water from a 5-gallon bucket (the faucet is just vinyl tubing secured with some zip or twist ties to a frame). I've used plastic cups/ladles to draw water out before but rinsing soapy hands is tricky/takes longer that way.It can be used without bolting/securing it to a platform, but with tubing attached it can flop around, so secure it down if you can. It comes with corner holes; you can bolt it onto a piece of wood, but in a pinch it can also be zip tied. I use grid wire shelving for different things and they work great as a platform. The pump leaks a little during use, but that's normal considering the parts are basically rubber and plastic pieces hose-clamped or friction-joined together, and pressing down on the foot pump shifts the material a bit each time. The pumping action itself is hard to do by hand without putting your body weight on it, but easy enough with a foot, but each pump only moves water through 1/2 tubing by maybe 2-3 inches at a time, good enough for hand washing, but makes for a pretty poor manual shower method.Don't use this where a little water leaking during use will be an issue, and for extra safety, elevate the pump above your water source, or remove the intake tube from your water source and clear the water from the tubes, when you're done using it.

Works great for my van conversion!
I turned my van into an RV. I used this with a 6 gallon water container under the sink. It works great! Excellent option for those who don't want an electric water pump!

Unsure of effectiveness
This isn't going to help much if you're in an emergency situation. A slow leak - sure. a leak you've patched... sure. A leak where you need to bail out or else.... you're gonna sink {S Goodbye

Not quite right for my purposes but still a quality item
I got this hoping I could use it as a basic bilge pump on my kayak. I think I could if I really worked at it, but it's not ideal because you really do want to use your foot to pump it, and that's a little tricky to set up in a kayak. It's just not really designed to be operated by hand. But it's a nice pump! I think it would excel in most boat functions (boats wider than sea kayaks, that is). And it's a great tool to have in case water goes out for an extended period (we live in an old building with unreliable pipes) so you can wash dishes or even take a quick and dirty shower with it. It's a good pump. If nothing else, I'll add it to my emergency kit.

Sturdy foot pump at a great value
A quality made foot pump for so many uses - boat galley, van kitchen. It's a hard but pliable rubber which seems the perfect balance of sturdiness and compressibility. Some folks here have commented that it's hard to push - if you are strung to use your hand, yes it's tough to depress. But this is a foot pump designed to be mounted on the floor and pressed with your foto which makes for easy deployment and a full stroke is not hard to do with just the tip of your toe.I'm using this pump in a van build in order to save water. Each pump expels the perfect amount to wet your hands then rinse. Super happy so far.
