Part of a valuable set for Waldorf families
I have the seasonal ones too. Spindrift is a much bigger collection and has a variety of themes so I would recommend it alongside the seasonal ones or as a first purchase before the others. Some of the songs have musical notation but a lot of the poems can be sung (you just need to make your own tune up). It does include some traditional nursey rhymes but there are alot more about everyday life of the past (the blacksmith, the cobbler, grinding corn, washing day). The stories are based on fables and traditional fairy tales, some are only half a page, many are a few pages (no pictures!). All the books are a resource for the parent/teacher to learn and then present to children. This book has less Christian emphasis, although includes some anthroposophical ideas. If you are already interested in Waldorf, this book takes you further away from the modern nursery rhymes. I will be using this book throughout my childrens education, dipping into it when I need a new song about an activity or theme.
