So glad I bought it
I purchased this for an 11 day trip to Eastern Africa. It is easy to use and I am so glad I had it. Having access to clean water everywhere I went was wonderful. I even used it on the plane to pour the cups of water they give you into it.Some reviews say that it leaks, and while there will be some spillage if it’s in a bag and stored sideways or upside down, it’s very minimal. The key is to follow the instructions that are included. When you finish drinking, you have to blow just a small amount of air back through the straw. This prevents the vast majority of leakage. If you don’t do this, water will pool at the top and make a mess. The manufacturer is clear about that in the instructions.Overall it’s a great product and I’m thrilled with it.

Worry Free Travel
If you’ve ever suffered dysentery when traveling, then you know how important safe water is. I travel with this empty at the airport and fill it as I go. It doesn’t guarantee good *tasting* water - I’ve drank some real yuk in some questionable places - but I’ve never gotten sick while using this. As a scuba diver, I must stay hydrated so waiting until I find “safe” water isn’t an option. And smaller dive operations often just fill their water barrel from the local hose. With this Nalgene-like bottle I can always keep drinking no matter where I am. You do have to suck the water up through the filter, so it’s a little odd to use at first but totally worth keeping your dives protected from getting ill. And I love the clip; onto my bag so I never forget it. Totally recommend.

Great for trips!
I travel a lot for work to LMICs, and I always hate how many plastic water bottles I use while there. I love this water bottle bc it helps me depend less on plastic bottles! I will note that LifeStraw filters down to 0.2 microns, removing virtually all bacteria and protozoa, but it does not filter out heavy metals, and will not desalinate water. It doesn't filter out waterborne viruses either - meaning I’ll only use it in certain settings while traveling. Still VERY helpful to have and would recommend to a friend. I also think it makes the water taste better.

Leaks
Minor, slow leak from both the sipper and cap seal when it is laid on its side. Say, like on the shirt your going to wear the next morning. Keep it upright and no worries. Used it on a 6 day river trip in India with no other troubles. Photo shows full bottle laid on its side for about 5 minutes.

Must have for shorter day hikes.
I bring this on all my day hikes. I recently ran out of water and had to drink snow melt. This gave me the comfort that the water I was drinking was safe and filtered. You could probably scoop water from a mud puddle and drink it if you had to although the idea is to look for the cleanest water you can find and then use this.

Possibly saved me from dysentery :)
Bought this for a recent trip to Kenya. Perfect size to keep me hydrated, but not too big to be a huge heavy thing to pack around. The attached clip was awesome to keep it near me and to remind me to drink the filtered water. Even when the bottle was full the clip held the bottle without ever coming off. The design of the flip up straw allowed me to flip it up and down with out having to touch the silicone part, and the fact it was always attached to me or my bag meant I never was tempted to drink water from sus places.Of the 5 of us in the group, I was the only one using a filtered water bottle and I was the only one who did NOT end up with a bad case of the runs. Coincidence? Maybe, or maybe

Good concept
The media could not be loaded. I drink a lot of water and I needed a water bottle that I could refill when I'm on the go and know that I'm drinking water that is free of impurities. Therefore I purchased the LifeStraw.I've been using this water bottle for about 2 days now and was hoping that the water flow would become easier to drink. I like that the water bottle is clear and the size is great. However, I can't quench my thirst when there's barely any drink flow from the straw. I added a video because I wanted to see how water could flow through the filter and it seems almost impossible. Inside the filter is a hard material with a vented cap. I think I may request a refund. Drinking water needs to be easier for me.

Works great not easy to clean
My son reports he likes it but honestly I think it should open at both sides of the container.. Then again I think that’s trademarked by someone else
