Welcome to Sparklegrove: A Branches Book (Unicorn Diaries #8)

Our four year olds really wanted to read books about unicorns, and we exhausted our local library's printed picture book options so got one of these as an ebook. The whole series is pretty great! This is the first one. They are about a group of unicorns who go to a sort of boarding school, have a wise and funny teacher, and have adventures. Themes include how to have healthy conflict with friends, beings different from you don't need to be fixed to be just fine, and more - but they are not lecturing or boring. I have probably heard or read them ~50 times in the last several months and while I wouldn't pick them up at this point for my own fun reading, I don't inwardly groan when my kids ask me to read them. We are about to start the author's other series too, and eagerly await the next installment of this series coming out later this year.

My daughter loves this series. She was just learning to read independently when she started the series but now she can breeze through them. She still demands I get the new releases and I love that for her. Reading should be enjoyable for kids! The graphics and lessons are so cute.

The story is interesting and educational. My 5year old granddaughter just loves it.
