Great introduction to herbalism - the author goes through historical context, describes various systems of herbal healing developed by mankind throughout centuries, focuses on work and lives of ancient and modern herbalists and goes on to analyze particular herbs an groups of herbs in particular. Quite an academic but still accessible text, focusing on content and quality information.

I love this book Great for anyone with a genuine interest in herb and plant lore. A real lovers tome of facts, stories, advice everything you need to get started or maintain your enthusiasm. Good Kindle layout.

Wolf. D. Storl is one of my all time favorite authors his knowledge is absolutely outstanding and I would love if more of his books were translated to English or I could read fluently in German. Loved this books so much!

I am only about a quarter through this book and cannot tell you how much I am enjoying it! I love history and herbs so this was a no brainier when I saw it - I am addicted to reading this book. Well written, interesting, not at all boring and dry! It is a wonderful resource for people who love herbs and the history of the people who tended them. Seriously, one of the BEST books on herbs out there! I have been so inspired to do more research into the topics included in this book.
