Insightful, but redundant, overly critical, and impractical.
The insights presented in this book are clear, and the case studies sprinkled throughout tend to be relevant and helpful in adding to the understanding of these insights. However, this book is redundant. The repetition of points -- practically verbatim from chapter to chapter -- is tiring.Additionally, grammatical mistakes and writing style choices distract from the book's credibility. The authors, for example, offer definitions from the Dictionary for common words like "hypothesis". I don't think the average reader needs this hand-holding. Just get to the point. Finally, the authors are also unnecessarily critical of current marketing practices, offering mostly generic 'this doesn't work anymore' or 'this is too general' or 'this is not sophisticated enough' arguments...only for their new proposed practices to be guilty of the same problems. What would be more helpful for marketers, in my opinion, is for the authors to make clear how their proposals complement the work that marketers are already doing. The authors' suggestion of radical change is hyperbolic and impractical -- they must know that change doesn't come overnight in organizations, so it would be more valuable to outline a realistic roadmap for managing the transition from today's practices to their proposed practices. Eg, how to make the business case to senior management for this change.

Great product,
Great condition very fast shipping. I never really used it because my professor is idiotic but if your professor ACTUALLY uses it, it is worth the money

Good, conceptually.
I bought the concept from the beginning but as i go through following chapters, it seems the author tried selling just that-concept. More practical cases and clear difference versus current market practices is what I initially hoped to get from this book.

Disappointing
I don't know who wrote these 5 star reviews, but the book delivers very little on shopper marketing. I have highlighted a few areas, and it is well referenced, but has added nothing to my knowledge of shopper marketing. Possibly a good read for someone entering B2B retail sales for the first time.

Current and descriptive and motivating
Even though a little repetitive at moments, it provides a framing to what shopper marketing should be, what information should be gathered or used by the shopper marketer in order to be successful.

A must read for all in the industry
I have now read this book twice which is something I never normally do. I canot recommend The Shopper Marketing Revolution highly enough to anyone of us who has done their time in the consumer goods industry. Messrs Desforges and Anthony have achieved the rare feat of making the complex and new both accessible and applicable. By locking in to many of the new ways of thinking and ideas that stem logically from the impossibly simple and logical Total Marketing approach, you will be guarnteed to get ahead of the pack. Mediocrity often rules in consumer goods in the western world but these guys share their experiences based on working for many years in the new growth markets where those involved in the industry seem to have a hunger and an edge that drives a dynamic retail and manufacturer environment. I have never written a review for Amazon before, so that must tell you something. Buy this and you will get a return of many fold in no time at all as well as an enjoyable and stimulating read.

Keeping up with new approaches.
A good book for anyone with retailing or consumer goods commercial interest. As with all business books, the basic story could have very easily been delivered in half the number of pages. Worth reading.
