Palm Beach Style: Architecture and Advocacy of John and Jane Volk, The

Beautiful and informative book
This is a well written, illustrated and edited volume about John Volk, the most important domestic architect in Palm Beach during the mid-twentieth century. It brilliantly pairs vintage and contemporary photos of a number of Volk’s best houses. In addition to documentation of key houses, the book explores the Volk’s contributions to public architecture and preservation in Palm Beach. One chapter compiles colored drawings of Volk’s smaller houses which are inventive and charming.

Meh. Not for me.
This book just didn’t do it for me. I wanted more color photos and fewer black and white pictures.
