BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!
This is a brilliant little device. Really easy to fit, easy instruction leaflet comes with it, and it's worth it's weight in gold if you're having lots of spam phone calls. I've blocked 11 numbers since fitting it and now I'm not getting any spam calls. (I was getting about 4 a day) What's also brilliant and useful to mention is that my landline isn't one that shows the number that's calling but I do have caller ID in my phone package (which is what you need to make it work) so now I can see the number that calls, if I don't know the number I answer it and if it's a spam call I just press the block button and cut them off and then they can't ring again. I love it! (I even said "you're about to be terminated!" being a fan of the terminator movies! lol I highly recommend this product. Update: I've now blocked 24 numbers, I have a "live" not robot caller spammer calling every day from different phone numbers, today I blocked him 13 times! It's very satisfying to block him but I'm astounded he keeps phoning when I am clearly not going to enter into conversation with him or buy anything. I looked it up online and apparently when the same person uses different numbers its called ID spoofing. Hopefully he'll run out of numbers soon lol. Great little device, very pleased with it.

Perfect & permanent relief from harassment
We were at our wits end with constant harassing calls from East Europeans trying to scam us with Bitcoin deals. We tried hanging up as soon as the calls came in but that did not deter them and the call intensity became worse. Our phone provider could not offer any practical help but two words from their website sparked an idea. I carried out a "call blocker" search on Google and up came a selection of devices. One of these was the CPR V5000 which, although a bit more expensive than some others, had some reasonably good reviews. As we had to do something, I took the plunge and ordered one. It arrived within 24 hours of being ordered. Installation involved connecting two plug ins and took less than 30 seconds. Having got a record of the 8 separate phone numbers that were being used to harass us, I immediately loaded these into the device and hey presto not one more unwanted call. Even better the device allows you to see how many times the blocked call numbers have tried (and failed) to get through - in our case the total now exceeds 25. This makes us smile with real delight as we imagine the frustration and anger that the caller is no doubt experiencing - a case of reverse harassing??!! To anyone with the same experience, this is a no brainer purchase. Even better the device will also help us to defeat those other unwanted sales calls e.g. home insulation bandits and claims lawyers etc. A Brilliant product and worth every penny.

Highly recommended
OK, folks, I ended up purchasing the CPR V5000 call blocker and am ready to report on it. Boy, I miss the US! If you order just a few days before Christmas, like I did, vendors in the USA will bend over backwards to have it delivered before Christmas. But for 3rd-world Europe, Amazon UK, even though I placed the order December 21, gave me no such choice. January 12 was the estimated delivery date, actual date several days later. Unbelievable! Anyway, I received the item and put it to use immediately. I am glad to report it works as advertised and expected. A few minor points: The “included” line splitter is not included. The phone cord is so short, the device, when connected to your phone can only be placed right next to it with no space between the two. The manual, is too small and the lettering illegible to anyone over 40. You need to somehow hold the manual open, while using a magnifying lens to read it. That’s surprising, since the product is obviously targeted toward senior citizens. The manual seems to have been written for telephony environments several decades ago, when there was no internet and no VOIP-compatible routers. It instructs the user to plug the devices’ cord to the wall, even though in my case, it had to be plugged into my router. The non-backlit LCD display, a technology relic from the early 90s, works OK but is not illuminated, so impossible to read at night. The indication BLOCK, which supposedly offers a count of blocked calls, does not seem to work. So, it reports no blocked calls, basically, even though I know for sure the device has been working all these months, blocking unwanted calls. It does show, however, the number of phone numbers in the block list. But all of the above can be considered minor annoyances. The main reason I purchased this device for, that is, to block unwanted calls, works with aplomb. I had already compiled a list of spam calls, starting last October. You see, my strategy has always been to refrain from picking up the phone when it rang from an unrecognizable number. I’d check the number on the web, and if it didn’t come up as a suspicious/spam call, I’d call it back. If it did show up as telemarketer, I’d simply place the number on my list. So, by the time the V5000 arrived, I already had compiled a long list of spam numbers. I took the time to enter each number into the V5000’s memory of blocked calls. The V5000 has a very important feature, allowing the user to block area codes or prefixes. I noticed, for example, that a lot of calls originated from the same company, where the first 6 numbers were always the same, and the last 4 were always different. Therefore, all I had to do was enter these first 6 numbers into the V5000’s block list to effectively block that entire company’s telephone center! The process is rather simple. To manually enter a phone number in your block list, pick up the phone, dial **7#, then the number you wish to block, followed by the # sign, and call. Instead of actually calling the number, the V5000 takes a couple of seconds, then produces an audible “success” sound for confirmation while the word “Successful” displays on its screen. That’s it. It is even easier, and immensely satisfactory I might add, to block a number while on the line talking to the caller. You simply press the big “BLOCK NOW” red button and the call bites the dust while the number goes to decorate the block list of the V5000. You can always unblock a number, but you have to go through the list of blocked numbers sequentially. The same way, sequentially, that is, you may peruse your list of blocked numbers. The V5000 has a memory of 1500 numbers, in addition to the pre-programmed blacklist it already contains. So, in conclusion, using the V5000, an annoying call from a given telephone number will bother you only once if you answer it and then press BLOCK NOW, or not at all if you screen calls using the internet and then enter the number manually in the block list. The device lists for £51.80 on Amazon UK. I paid a total of €75 including shipping to have it delivered to Greece. I’d give the V5000 4 out of 5 stars, because it works as expected, effectively, and only subtract one point for the minor annoyances listed in this review. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to regain the sanity in his/her household by blocking the annoying phone spammers once and for all.

Does the job.
Great when you get a unwanted phone call and you can tell them you ae going to exterminate them and press the red button and they are gone.

It works!
I moved house about 6 weeks ago and was allocated a new phone number. On the day my phone line went live I took a call at 7:30am from a London number, the caller asked for a person that was unknown to me. I explained it was a newly activated number and I could not assist. This sadly set the path that my phone line would take, several calls each day, with persistent people asking for someone I did not know. I googled some of the numbers and found that they were debt recovery agencies, who clearly refused to believe me that I did not know the person they were after or that I just took on the number. They phoned on several numbers, but also used international numbers. After a month of repeatedly explaining my situation, I was clearly wasting my time talking to them and I had to block them. I managed to block the geographic numbers on my DECT phone, but the international calls were getting through. One agency called every working day and this was more criminal harassment than the actions of a legitimate business. My phone company advised I get the V5000 to block all the geographic numbers and the international calls. The V5000 arrived Friday and it is now Monday evening, so just three and a half days to evaluate, but these are three and half days were there were no harassing calls at all. Five calls were stopped during the weekend alone. Peace at last, so a very welcome addition to the home. I contacted the manufacturer for technical advice prior to the setup (website chat system), they were very helpful and assisted greatly. Whilst it is still early days, this is a very happy family, no more annoying phone calls.

A brilliant device and a major improvement on the previous 'CPR ...
A brilliant device and a major improvement on the previous 'CPR Global Blocker'..! I had disconnected this one due to buying a new phone system which had a built-in blocker. The problem with that was it only had a limited number of calls that could be blocked before it's function reached capacity!! We were then getting upwards of 7 nuisance calls per day which became extremely annoying and stressful. The V5000 is easy to set up, especially as I have a second line dedicated to my broadband. I installed the device on 7th April and the frequency of nuisance calls immediately reduced dramatically, probably due to the vast number of known nuisance call numbers already built into it's database. I have since then blocked 26 calls and haven't had a single nuisance call for 3 weeks! It's actually quite amusing to answer a call you may not be sure of and, after realising it's a spammer, just say - "I'm hitting a big red button and you'll be out of my life for ever!" Wonderful... Many thanks CPR..

Very Good
I had already received to scam calls this morning before my Amazon delivery arrived with my CPR V5000 call blocker. My order arrived and was very easy to set up via my router, just fifteen minutes later another scam call I pressed the red block now button successful was shown on the screen and the phone number was added to the blocked list. So easy to set up and use. wish I had purchased one sooner

2nd Faulty unit returned ... buying a BT 8610 Triple handset phone instead.
I was so looking forward to using this, but the first one arrived was dead, so I ordered another. The replacement unit worked ... at least when it was installed, but on checking the unit a couple of hours later the display showed 'rrrr' and after disconnecting/reconnecting the input line the display went completely dead. I am sending this second unit back for refund and won't be ordering another. Something else I don't like about this unit is that you need the manual to hand when programming the blocking features ... EPIC FAIL! It would have been so much easier to allow programming the features just using the existing display and buttons ... Simply, press and hold the big red button to enter programming mode, then use the scroll buttons to select a feature and view its status on the display, then press the delete button to toggle it on/off. Finally, press and hold the big red button to save the settings. That's how I would have done it, but no you have to work 'blind' and press keys on the phone while listening for confirmation beeps on the unit ... FAIL! My guess is that it works this way because some of the other CPR models don't have a display, but that's a poor excuse as this unit does have a display. I'm going to buy the BT8610 phone instead ... more call blocking features built right into the phone than this unit, likely to be more reliable, easy to use and you can get a triple phone pack for the same price as this call blocker only device.

Works like a charm! No more spam calls!
This device worked like a charm. I was frustrated with all the spam 1-800 numbers calling all the time, so I decided to get this device. It was easy to set up and you can program in certain numbers to block, or block all numbers with certain area codes. So I programmed it to block all 1-800 numbers, and now there are no more 1-800 calls annoying me everyday! You have to add the number in like it is displayed on your caller ID or on the call blocker itself in order for the call blocker to block it, so just be aware of that. It's an amazing device and well worth the money.

Using This w/Comcast Business Internet/Phone Modem and 5 Touch Tone Slimline Phones, each w/Caller ID Units. It works GREAT!
Amazingly effective and useful device. It took me all of 50 seconds to initially set it up in standard mode (series mode) after having unpacked it, and to get it running. The device works perfectly. I should tell you up front that my landline telephone service is provided by Comcast Business Internet/Phone service (please note that Comcast Business Phone service, aka Comcast Connect, uses a different phone modem (an Aris 822 voice modem) than does Comcast Residential Xfinity phone service, and so your results with the Comcast Xfinity phone modem, which reportedly sports less-robust voltage regulation on the phone line output) may not be the same as mine). The device works perfectly, and right out of the box, without adding additional blocked numbers, it blocked over 70% of spam calls and robocalls. With the addition of just a few additional blocked numbers, using the great giant red BLOCK NOW button, it now blocks over 96% or more of spam and robocalls on a daily basis. BTW, I have the device installed near my desk in my home office, and it is located near the various Comcast cable modems that comprise the cable gateway for my Comcast Business Internet/Phone service. It is installed in series with the single phone cable coming from the Comcast phone modem, and then downstream from the CPR V5000, via the short black cable provided, is a 5-way phone line splitter, and plugged into the splitter are five (5) Slimline-style touch tone phones, one located in my office, another in an upstairs hallway, one in the kitchen, one in a bedroom down the hall from my office, and one in the living room. Each of the touch tone phones has an Emerson large-screen Caller ID display unit (which also announces the caller ID number audibly as well) installed in the phone line feeding it. Whenever a call comes in, the display on the V500 device works perfectly, and the Caller ID displays on each of the 5 Emerson Caller ID Display devices display all Caller ID information perfectly, just as they did before I had installed the V500 call blocker device. The only time that I have ever seen the Caller ID displays on my downstream Caller ID display devices fail to display correct calling phone number information while the phone is ringing is during those very rare times on really hot summer days when the ambient air temperature in my office (which is normally not air-conditioned) reaches over 85 degrees by mid-afternoon, and if the Comcast cable phone modem (an Arris cable phone modem) happens to be located too close to the main Comcast Internet cable modem (both modems are mounted vertically, side-by-side on a shelf, and they are normally spaced only one inch apart), and thus gets a bit too hot, then the output voltage on the phone line drops a bit and I may briefly see the phone number information disappear from the displays of the downstream Caller ID display devices. If and when this rather rare problem occurs, I am able to reverse it rather quickly by simply moving the Comcast cable phone modem about 6 to 8 inches away from the Comcast cable Internet modem, allowing each of them to run at a somewhat cooler temperature. Bottom line is that my phone -- despite the fact that my number has long been on the US federal Do Not Call list -- has for the past two years received about 6 calls per day, of which at least 5 (and sometimes all 6) turned out to be spam calls or related robocalls. As I mentioned above, over 96% of those nuisance calls have now ceased entirely. Frankly speaking, at a price of about $99 USD, this device was a steal, and the reality is that it would be worth a $990 price tag for the superior and reliable performance that it delivers!

CPR V5000 Call Blocker
COS’E’ E COSA FA? Fantastico!
