works very well only use it in the loft. My only snag was instruction book says use 13amp plug fitted with a 13amp fuse in the battery charger, sop I opened the plug to find a 10amp fuse fitted, but because the hoist is only 500 watt I fitted a 3amp fuse. I went on the side of caution

It would be good if there was a template for hole to be drilled etc make it much easier for the installer I'm a retired foreman carpenter with an engineering honours degree and it was a difficult especially overhead work. I had to have holes in brackets elongated for slight millimetre differences.

I bought this 2 replace my old one. I use it for getting on my horse. It fits on walls poles beams swing arm never had any issue with motors. Only down side is trying 2 keep cable from crossing when wound typical issue with most 2 b fair. Have used previous for lifting heavy objects and it lasted 10 years think would have lasted longer if taken care of better Used mostly outdoors in all weather's. Can't rate this high enough. Good product great price

I was moving many items into my loft space from one of my rooms which I used to use as my small office. I no longer needed and my kids needed more spaces. So, I dumped a lot but needed to keep many items including small and heavy items such as a fast colour laser printer (Brother MFC-9330CDW). Based on the size of the printer, it is possible that it can go through the loft hatch, but it is impossible to move if I hold the printer by myself, and hold the ladder by my self and pass the small loft hatch. Not only the size of the items, but the weight was also the problem. I did not want to get injury while moving the items. So, I bought this, attached it onto the ceiling of the loft space, then, it made all the jobs very very simple, easy and quick. I only needed to use it for one day to move all the items I needed to move. I do not know how to call the small gadget to lift heavier item. I have never used that yet. Without using that, it can lift up to 125KG, with that, it can lift up to 250KG (with half lifting speed) This hoist saved huge amount of time. Moreover, I do not have to worry about my backache after moving such heavy items to the loft space. Recommended.

Fitted a longer rope as I use it on the 4th floor of the building (aprox 14m). Lifted tiles, cement and more (sometimes 70kg) no isues at all. Silent, not to heavy, saved my back 🙂
