Anaconda Collection 1-4

Nice & collectable collection.....

The first film is great creature feature fun, sequel isn't too bad but has a ridiculous story. Third and fourth films are just pure trash - best to have on in the background. The packaging and physical extras are amazing though, I'm a sucker for these extras, well done 88 Films!

First two films I enjoyed the second two, the less said the better. Poor acting, bad CGI.

First two movies are enjoyable to watch but the second two are atrocious.

Good collection but they got a bit silly after number 2 one was brilliant two was good but 3&4 not so good so it’s a good selection to have but they might make more hence there will be another box set or a limited edition box set coming soon in the future then there they 4k UHD versions will come out too

The case arrived broken.

I’ve been stalking this set for a year now and saw that it was in stock so I order it *again. I own the region 2/B dvd set but the PQ wasn’t that great. It was watchable but for some reason the darn subtitles would not disable on my region free blu ray player and it got so annoying to watch (the only movie to do this). I’m happy that this was available again on Amazon and will be watching them on Halloween.

88 films never disappoints

Sehr schöne Collectors Edition (CE) der Anaconda Quadrologie - jedoch nur in Englisch. Ja, das ist so eine Sache mit Anaconda. Teil1 ist in deutsch sehr selten, so gut wie nicht zu bekommen und wenn dann sehr teuer. Teil 2 bis 4 wurde bisher nicht auf Bluray in Deutsch zum Verkauf angeboten. Daher habe ich mir diese Box zum günstigen Preis für 30€ gegönnt. Habe schon Teil 1 und Teil 2 geschaut. Mit der englischen Sprache komme recht gut klar, man kann sich den englischen Untertitel dazu schalten, dann geht es einfacher. Die Dialoge halten sich eh in Grenzen, da es Actionfilme sind. Über Teil 1 brauchen wir nicht viel reden, der ist top besetzt, tolle Story, gut gespielt (J. Lopez, Jon Voight, Ice Cube, etc.), krasse Action, sowie Bild und Ton der Zeit entsprechend sehr gut. Teil 2 fand ich auch sehr gut, eigene coole Story, viel Action und sehr guter Sound und Bild. Teil 3 (David Hasselhoff) und 4 sollen nicht so gut sein, aber die schaue ich mir noch an und bilde mir meine eigene Meinung. Ggf. werde ich die Rezension dann noch anpassen. Die Aufmachung der CE ist einwandfrei. Der Schuber ist aus millimeterstarken Karton und sehr stabil. Der Aufdruck hat sogar einen Schillereffekt. Im Schuber befinden sich die einzelnen Blu-Ray Amarays pro Film, wobei Teil 3 und 4 in einer Hülle gelegt wurden. Wichtig, ihr müsst euch unbedingt die CE holen, sie kostet nicht viel mehr, schaut aber genau so ähnlich aus, wie eine Neuveröffentlichung (keine CE). Darüber wäre ich fast gestolpert. Mann erkennt sie an der Optik der Seite der Box, wo die Filme aufgezählt werden. Ich hatte das bei 88 Films extra angefragt, damit ich das richtige erwische. Ich habe noch Bilder beigefügt, dann erkennt man die CE. Die CE hat nämlich folgende Vorteile, sie beinhaltet noch ein dickes Szenen-Booklet, mehrere postkartengroße Sammelkarten mit Film-Szenen und noch ein Poster. Freue mich wenn euch diese Rezension weitergeholfen haben sollte. Bis die Tage.

Buenas películas y buenos discos blurray

Una edición fantástica de la británica 88 Films con la caja exterior con acabado mate-brillo que se realza dependiendo del ángulo de visión. Tan solo echo de menos algun 'making of' de la primera película. Del resto hay varias 'featurettes'. Anaconda (1997), ambientada en la jungla amazónica colombiana, me parece una aventura super entretenida. Cuenta con un reparto lleno de caras conocidas (Jennifer López, John Voight, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Eric Stoltz, Danny Trejo...) y un valor de producción y unos efectos visuales bastante buenos teniendo en cuenta el año en que fue realizada y el presupuesto con el que contaba (45 millones de dólares por los 110 de Starship Troopers o los 200 de Titanic, ambas del mismo año). John Voight lo peta como el cazador de serpientes sin escrúpulos, que hará lo que sea para que la tripulación de la barcaza, que se encuentra en búsqueda de una tribu legendaria, le ayude voluntariamente o no a dar caza a un ejemplar vivo de Anaconda gigante. Como curiosidad, el film fue dirigido por el peruano Luis Llosa, primo de Mario Vargas Llosa. Anacondas 2 (2004) nos traslada a la espesura de la isla de Borneo, Indonesia, donde una orquídea que solo florece cada 12 años podría ser la clave para desarrollar un fármaco que alargue notablemente la vida de las personas. En este caso, la existencia de gigantes se justifica por la dieta que hacen éstas de los animales que ingieren dicha flor. Nivel de entretenimiento similar a la primera entrega aunque con menos caras conocidas. Anaconda 3 (2008) y 4 (2009) vienen en un mismo disco. La cuarta entrega es una continuación directa de la tercera y continúan explorando el tema de la orquídea de sangre. Ambas entregas están algún peldaño por debajo de sus predecesoras. Se nota su marcado carácter de serie B tirando a Z, tanto por su CGI de 'low cost' típico de la primera década de los 2000, como por el hecho de haber sido rodadas en Rumanía. En todo caso, son lo suficientemente entetenidas para garantizar un visionado. Como apunte curioso, mencionar que David Hasselhoff aparece en la tercera entrega y John Rhys-Davies (Gimli en El Señor de los Anillos y el egipcio Sallah en Indiana Jones) tanto en la tercera como en la cuarta entrega.
