Fabulous Radio - great sound and a really classy bit of kit!
Absolutely super delighted with this. What a classy radio! Sound is excellent and it's easy to use. Buttons and whole item feels very well made. Love that it also has Bluetooth plus DAB and FM! I'm very very happy with the product and would recommend!

Looks good, sounds good, just a couple of issues
I love the retro look of this radio - it's exactly what I was looking for. I found the same as other reviewers with the instructions - they're not particularly clear and I did have to find a lot out myself. I didn't even realise you could turn the radio off completely (rather than just putting on standby) by holding down the power button for a couple of seconds - thanks to other reviewers for that! The sound on the whole is very good but I do have to be careful where I put the radio in my kitchen because when the washing machine is on, it does cause interference! Even at a very low volume, the sound quality is better than any other radio I've owned. So the issues... I've been using for just over 2 months now and I thought the build quality was excellent when I unpacked the item. However, the plastic panel that covers the top of the radio surrounding the info screen has started to lift very slightly along one edge as shown in the photo. It does push back down and you can hear a sticky kind of glue noise, but I wouldn't expect this after just 2 months. I find the preset library quite fiddly and it's almost easier just to scroll through the scanned stations. The more annoying thing is when I put the radio in standby and switch it on next day, it plays a totally different station to the one I was listening to the day before. My old radio automatically replayed the pre-shutdown station next time it was switched on. Minor niggles, and generally the look and sound of the radio mean I'm very pleased with it.

Software flaws
Factory seconds but I could cope with that, but the software had been changed so I couldn’t set the dab in the settings to take all stations rather than just strong stations. Had to put the aerial up full to get kingdom fm ,forth 1 and forth 2 as well as radio Scotland on dab. All stations was possible in the FM settings.but I couldn’t pick any BBC stations ( in English) as all the transmitters had been switched to bbc Scotland Gallic station. In central Scotland.clock isn’t accurate anymore because the settings have been changed and I can’t set it to take the signal from anywhere, just the radio or no change. And the signal is far too weak to pick it up accurately. As for the battery pack settings that’s gone, can’t press information when on standby to check the battery status/ strength. And no icon to tell me if it’s on battery or electric power, and nothing pops up to tell me that the battery needs changed up. Emailed VQ and found out that the software has been updated and all those settings have been changed/ scrapped. I wish they’d do some sort of software update to put it all back. It would be four out of five stars if it had. It’s a shame as the speakers are better, actually hear the bass a lot better.

Great Sound
A good-looking radio, but most importantly has a sound that satisfies the audiophile ear!

Built to last
It's a 'shame on me' that I didn't review this earlier, but I bought one of these 7 years ago.It has performed flawlessly in that period with an excellent sound.I did consider an 'internet radio' at the time, but since this has built-in bluetooth I can can link my Android phone app (XiiaLive Pro - other apps are available!) for that function. The icing on the cake is that I enquired about purchasing a replacement ariel (accidentally snapped off) and customer support has responded with a 'free of charge' spare part.A rare level of support these days.

Dissapointing quality
Bought this for my partner to use in her potting shed while she is, err pottering in the garden. We have a few roberts radios around the house which are really the benchmark for Dab devices. But wanted something stylish for outdoor use. Reviews of this Hepburn mkll were good so i opted for it over a Roberts Rambler as prices are similar.First of all very dissapointed with the build quality all very plasticy and doesnt feel very robust. Sound quality is very flat and lifeless. It can be improved slightly via the equaliser but much past half volume and the sound starts to fall apart.Fitting the optional battery pack was tricky and the connector assembly in the radio is of very poor quality it didnt seem to be fastened in properlyand gave way several times while trying to connect the battery. What did annoy me is that originally VQ did have an app for easy bluetooth navigation of this device. Although the bluetooth does work ok much of its useability is lost without the app.It would appear that this app has now been discontinued and replaced with a new app which does not support the Hepburn mkii. Possibly a strategy to prompt people to buy the Hepburn voice? Either way shows a lack of regard for customers. Will hang on to this as i cant be bothered to exchange, it very overpriced even with the current discount. Wish i had gone for the Rambler!

Great radio!
I am very happy with this radio! It looks lovely, seems very solidly built and sounds great. It was really easy to set up straight from the box. I would definitely recommend buying a battery pack to make this portable.

Great Sounding radio
Has a retro look, well built, sounds great especially for music - good bass sound through larger and more powerful speakers than most other radios of this size. Down side is battery life isn’t very good.
