Incredibly, Informative Reading
Highly recommended read especially for parents. I personally found this book informarative especially when to look out for signs of a persons behaviour before a potentual relationship may develop. I would think it would be a good read for parents and their teenage children to read together. This is in NO WAY a medical book but a good introduction into people's body language and tell tale signs for potentiallt, avoiding people who may not have good intentions towards others. I have BPD so it was good to know that BPD is listed in this book, i found it really interesting, unoffensive and great for people who are going into Law Enforcement.

Good quick service
The parcel arrived in excellent condition and in good time, on opening, the book was in mint condition. Excellent book for those wanting to know about behaviour from acknowledged expert. Good service and would definitely recommend this supplier.

Concice, accessible and very helpful
I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who is trying to make sense of a toxic relationship or wants to feel more secure in their ability to avoid harmful people. Joe Navarro writes clearly and concisely, I finished to book in a couple of days. It's accessible, too, I got it as an adult who's experienced a few dangerous personalities up close, and who reads too many psychology books. But I think it would have been just as readable and helpful (if not more so) if I'd had this book as a teenager. Good common sense advice from a thoughtful and perceptive man, with no victim blaming. Although some of the stories he uses to illustrate his points are disturbing and some may find them triggering, I didn't personally feel this was one of those salacious true-crime books that dwells un unnecessarily on the cruelty. I feel safer and more confident in my intuition having read this, and will keep it on my shelf to refresh my memory in future. Sadly, dangerous people appear in all areas of life and don't come labelled with flashing neon signs...but the checklists in this book are a helpful aid that might help bring perspective and focus when I try to assess new people in my life.

Bad pucrhcase ad too mesmerizing
The only I have to say is a bad purchase. It was my fault to buy a audio version before i bought the printed Although fluent of English i can't stand listening English for longer than 3 minutes. I have given to a friend of me and she later returned it back because it sounded too mesmerising to hear it making her .....sleep in less than 10 minutes! Sounds it crazy to you? It is true ! I think Navaro selected the wrong actor ! Now the audio book is between my DVDs...I and she tried to sell it but none could buy...

Interesting psycho reference
Useful examples can help you spot a narcissist psycho in your life, including if you are one. Helpful list of traits to spot and thus a-v-o-i-d. Advice never ages . Lists overlap a lot, so after finding say five traits matchโฆ. Run in the opposite direction!!

NARCISSISTS, EMO's & PREDATORS - Your game's up, you're on the radar !
It has only recently become apparent to me that I have been a victim of a number of 'dangerous personalities' intermittently throughout most of my 40+ years of life! I do not mean a victim in some 'namby-pamby' or 'woe is me, please pity me' sense of the word. I mean that these personalities have had on-going success in damaging various aspects of my life, from my education to my close relationships with friends, family and partners. In short, they've wrought absolute havoc and turmoil in my life since I was a kid because they were my family and therefore the people I was least wary of! I only wish that I had been armed with this book 30 years ago - how much easier, calmer, fulfilled and happier my life would have been! Everyone should have at least a basic understanding of pyschology and of the 'flawed' personality types which it is odds-on that many people will encounter. This book helped me to rationalise my own unpleasant experiences at the hands of a number of such destructive and despicable characters - a narcissist, a predator and an 'EMO' - and to distinguish the tell-tale signs of potential danger from the normal fluctuations in peoples' mood and demeanour. Let this book be a stepping stone to further reading on this subject and a more effective 'radar' for and defences against these characters. I was happy with the minimal use of clinical/medical terminology within the book and also the avoidance of the question of 'why' these people behave the way that they do. For, as Mr. Navarro states, it doesn't matter 'why' when a dangerous personality is wreaking havoc in your life; what matters is that you need to recognise and heed the warning signs from the beginning! Also, whilst examples of destructive behaviour are given, there is no over-the-top gory detail of murder or rape cases. I for one would like to shake Mr. Navarro's hand and thank him for sharing the benefit of his hard-earned experience in this very useful piece of work. After reading this book, I'm now on constant alert for the signature traits of these loathsome characters so I can give them a very wide berth. If only the narcissists, predators, paranoids and 'EMO's' could be forced by law throughout the World to be branded with a big red 'D' for danger on their foreheads, but I can't see that happening any time soon! So, don't be a victim. Educate yourself - buy the book.

Introduction to the topic
โญ: 3.5 Ex FBI profiler Joe Navarro examines the four "dangerous personality types": the narcissist, the predator, the unstable and the paranoid. Navarro references real life criminal cases and provides lengthy checklists in order to help the reader to spot those red flags, listen to those alarm bells and avoid or escape harmful connections. A quick, easy read which simplifies the topic and provides a basic introduction and understanding from the point of view of a FBI profiler, rather than a psychologist. Navarro aims to reassure and help victims to prevent them blaming themselves and hopes to protect potential future victims from toxic behaviour.

A really interesting and useful book
This book takes a look at 'personalities' from the standpoint that people can be and sometimes are dangerous - so beware and look after yourself! These people may be well known to you (spouse, your own kid or a neighbor) and for this reason we find excuses for their behavior. The bottom line is WATCH OUT!

Love this book!
I am blown away by the simplicity and conciseness of the material. I dealt with a very powerful, personality-disordered man in my recent past at work and suffered greatly not knowing what happened to me and how I was controlled for over 3 years. Reading this book gave me the strength and courage to break free. I initially left a comment on Mr. Navarro's Linkedin post referring to the person that hurt me so badly and then decided to delete it to protect myself and prevent further harm. When we are victimized, we want to warn everyone and prevent further damage. I now walk silently through life, carrying this book as my powerful defense weapon. Thank you Mr. Navarro for all that you do to create safe communities.

Oustanding Book
I received the book a week ago and finished reading it today. Before going further, please allow me to say that if you think you were taken advantage of in the past or are worn down emotionally by toxicity as you are reading this comment, then get and read this book without hesitation. I must confess that I don't regret buying the book as it helped me realize that I made the right decision in the past, by distancing myself from certain individuals and situations. I would blame myself for doing so, because it felt like I was missing something or I hurt other people's feelings. However, Joe Navarro, through this amazing work, taught me not to feel guilty for wanting to protect my space, body, finances and emotions. Yes, I did quit jobs, left relationships and avoided certain places and people (including family and friends), although at times I did not act promptly. But, I am happy that I removed myself from abuse and manipulation anyway. That being said, my knowledge in human psychology is still at the embryonic stage, even after having read this book and other materials in the subject.
