Actually, the installation of the speaker wire into the Nakamichi Spade Y Banana Plug (why is it called a banana plug when it's just a split Y?) ñààwas very straightforward. There are 2 important things to remember: the first is to make sure you strip enough of the insulation so have the appropriate amount of exposed wire inside the device, and second, do NOT remove the screws from the device - leave them in the screw holes in. These things make otherwise you'll go crazy trying to get them back in while trying to keep your speaker wire in place. Once the speaker wires are in the device you can and hook them to the speaker terminal posts much easier than doing it with bare wire, giving you a more positive connection and if you change speakers it's just as easy. Yes, the Nakamichis are on the expensive side but you get what you paid for: high quality craftsmanship and materials and very aesthetically pleasing.

Great construction, easy to use, 2 set screws to ensure it stays attached and doesn't pull out, collar goes over the inner top prevent set screws backing out and give a nice proffesional look to the install, and low resistance to minimize signal loss. Very happy, would recommend.

excellent quality, but BEWARE the casing is conducive. If these touch, they will short out your amplifier and either blow an internal fuse or damage the circuitry. I added transparent heat-shrink covers to protect mine

Worked great. I bought the Nakamichi wires I needed to hook up my 1970's Warfdale speakers to a new Marantz system but had to swap out one end for forks. These unscrewed and attached and works like the factory original pin type (only needed the pin on one end). If you want to hook up older speakers, this is the way to go.
