I wanted to upgrade my old LED strip with this to avoid the points-of-light effect, and they really do look good. I got the higher density 144 led/meter (720 total for the 5M strip) and I couldn't really find out what the power draw would be. Too many different answers here, so here's what I found.Hooked to my bench power supply set to constant 12V, on any of the solid RGB colors it draws about 1.4A, and when it's on white (mixed white, so all RGB would be on at the same time) as expected it draws about 4.3-4.4A total.Right now I have it doing a RGB chasing, with a few other colors thrown in (cyan, white, yellow) and the draw is 2.5-2.6A.Overall, if you're looking for a power supply and need to know how many amps you'll need, it could work with 5A but you'll be happier if you get one that's overrated to avoid dropping the voltage too low when it's all white. Go with 6+ at least, but might as well get a 10A supply and call it good.I haven't installed it yet but it looks like the adhesive strip should work as well as my last one, which stuck pretty well.I paired mine up with an SP630E controller and so far that's working well too with these lights. No complaints.

Im using it for accent soffit lighting, protected from the elements. Draws a good amount of juice, have a proper power supply.

The media could not be loaded.  6/25 update. After dozens of emails, "Billy" at BTF came through for me. He asked the correct questions and agreed that the strips I received were bad. He put in an order for replacement, (since they were out of stock) and I received a new strip that works as expected.The strip is as good as I had hoped. I love the "neon" look while also being addressable. They really look fantastic. I would have given 5 stars but I had to buy a new controller for verification that old strip was actually bad, and not just the DIY controller I was using. It was a bigger hassle than I wanted but the customer support was pretty good. (At least Billy was helpful). I seriously would have given 5 stars if not for the issues while troubleshooting and having to fork out money for another controller. I've purchased a lot of BTF products and this is the first time I've had issues. All's well that ends well.---------------------------------------------------------------------------6/14 update. I tried working with the seller for a resolution, but there's a lot lost in translation. They seem to be trying and have offered a refund, but this is a review of "free" product, so that's not really an option. I actually bought a BTF-controller to see if it made any difference, but it didn't. (I REALLY wanted these to work). I'll see if they send me another strip that works and will update then. Fingers crossed.------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have been trying to get these to work with my ESP8266 controllers without success. I run a bunch of LEDs with these same controllers at Christmas and they work really well with the 5v WS2811 IC. I assumed this strip would be the same. I provided 24v to the strip and used a converter to take the 24v down to 5v for power to the ESP8266 controller. The D4 pin of the ESP provides the data to the LED strip. I share the ground to the controller and strip and have tried a few different online blogs, but can't seem to get this strip to work. I got a response from the seller, but they asked me to provide video directly to their email instead of corresponding through Amazon. Although I buy a lot of BTF lighting stuff, that just seems sketchy. I responded through Amazon and will see what support they offer. Hopefully it's a simple fix and I will update this review.

The media could not be loaded.  I decided to do something different with my new house. Instead of recessed lights I installed the drywall recessed track for led tape lighting around the entire perimeter of the room. I have 3 seperate zones set up as I'm putting shiplap up on my long wall. This RGB tape light came out perfect and is very bright. Only complaint is I am unable to order the remote for it for what I've been told is possibly 2 months and there are no connectors for it. That means I had to solder each connection where I turned corners and broke the line. Not a big deal if your handy but it is worth mentioning. The kids love the light show when I turn it on and any guest find it really cool. BTF has been responsive with any question I have had in regards to what has been needed for my installation. Would recommend this and any other of their products as I use some other of their lighting for backsplash lighting installs

The media could not be loaded.  Out of my own stupidity I was confused for a while, but after getting the right controller (you need one with a data port) and a signal booster I got these bad boys working. They are insanely bright! They look amazing and shine straight through the poly fil!

really nice diffusion with COB leds. Using for under shelf/cabinet lighting with dimmable color controlled lighting (and bright warning flashes), so the grouping of leds with WS2812 is not an issue (lucky so far cut groups match widths needed). Easy standard interface. As usual BTK is quality product. Also does not get very warm even at full white output. I got the 12V for smaller connector wiring and it's perfect for using with 12V uC as distro canbus controls.

I bought 6 of these and install them in a client theater room. This is the worst purchase I've ever made. Since installed they have been nothing but trouble. Now the lights don't even work an I have to rip the entire thing out and replace them on my dime.

What an improvement over the older dream colour led strips. Excellent colour and brightness. Seamless look to them makes them look even better. The only downside is that you will want to replace all your older led lights once you put these up becsuse they look so good.

Man the colors this led strip can do is just awesome. So beautiful. But after a little bit the adhesive seem to dry out and fell off the wall. I went to put back up and the sticky is gone. Won't stay. So sad cause my white lights seem to be good. It's just the colored ones. For the price might move on.

needed power supply, needed, controler, needed remote... better off buying a kit
