Good product - works well
I spent ages trying to decide if this would be worth the money or not, thinking it may just be another fad, but I am happy to say it has been worth the money. I have used it loads, it helps get clothes dry quickly when you cant use the tumble dryer, much better than having clothes hanging on the airer for days and they clothes are nice and soft once dry. I would say though, dont expect it to be quicker than your tumble. It dries the clothes with hot air and this will still take time but it does work well. I leave it on for a couple of hours in morning whilst doing my other jobs and can then get the clothes ironed in the afternoon. If you overload it with heavy large items such as tracksuit bottoms or large jumpers this will take longer, I tend to check it every now and again and move items around. Not overloading and spacing the clothes out well helps with drying. I would say it is big though, I have seen other reviewers saying it would be good if you lived in a small flat but I wouldnt know where you would put it. It does take up a lot of room and I live in a 4 bed house. I wouldnt leave it up as it doesnt look nice and is takes up too much room but saying that it is very easy to put up and take down each time. I pack it away at the end of each use and use the box it came in as it has a handy handle then store it in the cupboard. It has a timer which I do use so I dont leave it on for longer than I need to however I wouldnt be happy leaving it on when I leave the house or overnight. It is a heater after all and I would be worried about the safety. Some people say they use it in the bedroom and it warms up the room, it will warm up any room you put it in but its fairly noisy. I certainly couldnt sleep if it was on. All that said I am glad I bought it and it has been well worth the money.

Using the JML Dri Buddy has truly revolutionised my wash day!
I was a bit cynical about buying any item with JML branding - I have seen the tv shopping channel and the in-store promotions for these items and really didn't expect this to be anywhere near the hype, when my old trusty clothes horse started to show signs of age I took a chance on this knowing the excellent customer service Amazon offer. My garden only gets a little sunlight, in the morning. If I miss the window of opportunity to get the washing hung during that time, clothes would still be very damp, even on a mild day - only the very hot summer days seem to be effective. The Dri-Buddi box was smaller than expected, as soon as it was delivered I had wet clothes waiting to go in it! I needed help from hubs to put it together, only because I was petrified of cross threading the screws. I don't often take it apart because of this, but find that with the arms dropped down and the cover off, pushed to one side it takes up very little floor space. Up and working, the floor space required is less than my old, worn out Minky clothes airer. The Dri Buddy does warm the house up and the smell of fresh washing is great, I do keep the window slightly open to avoid too much humidity. Drying clothes on my clothes horse would take days and some items of clothing were starting to smell musty, a smell no amount of ironing and febreeze would shift. I washed them down and they were amongst the first to go in the Dri-Buddy. I was disappointed to find the smell still there, but after several more wash cycles, that smell has finally gone. All the clothes come out smelling clean and fresh. You will still need to iron, but there are less wrinkles to go at, meaning that there is less effort. I have managed to dry super king sized quilt covers and bedding in here by draping it over the top of the arms. I did use a sock hanger the first couple of times, but as it was so fiddly they now go over the arms or on the spokes (laziness is king). I rarely used to see the bottom of the wash basket in winter but now there is rarely any damp clothing hanging about, or items waiting to be washed as there will be nowhere for it to go. Last month, after a full month of using this several times a week for up to 3hrs a time, I noticed the electricity bill was £10 more. I had done more washing that month, so that electricity use was combined between the washer and the Dri-Buddy.

Good Product - worth buying
Unit appears flimsy when you put it together, but once assembled its quite sturdy. I am surprised by some of the comments where nothing needs to be ironed. In a lot of cases that is true but it does depend on the garment. I have trouble hanging everything with adequate space and not sure if the hangers we have bought are too big, you'd think this would come with hangers! We found that clothes on one side were not drying so well, even after 4 hours. We then found that the cover was poorly stitched. We had to contact JML direct and to their credit, they sent a replacement very quickly, although be warned, the replacement is white not blue. Its not a wonder dryer and as per other comments, don't expect it to be like a tumble dryer. It is not noisy either. Another comment claimed this can also heat a room, I tend to disagree. It does not give off that much heat however ours is in the conservatory and depending on the day, we have to open the windows else the condensation is bad. I don't want this to be negative review. The product is good. A lot of clothes do dry without the need of ironing, which makes the wife very please, especially with school clothes. Clothes definitely smell better and avoids hanging over radiators. You can put any clothes in also without fear of shrinking. I am glad I bought it and so is the wife who wasn't convinced at first. It doesn't replace the tumble dryer which we still use for towels etc, but definitely reduced the usage of the tumble. I think for the price it was a good gamble and for us, it paid off. I would recommend others to buy if they want to stop hanging clothes over radiators

Dri Buddi
I purchased this for my sister, as she has no suitable space in her home for a normal dryer. Ok here are the quick points; 1) + Easy to erect. 2) - The arms could be manufactured with deeper grooves to hold the coat hangers better. 3) + 9 coat hangers are sufficient for hanging items. Anymore and there would be poor circulation of heat, longer time in drying. 4) - When drying (maximum timer is 3 hours) condensation will be created on laminate/vinyl floors. My sister has compensated for this with window open and old towels on the floor. 5) + The dryer does create a warmth in the room while drying (compensates for the window open on a cold day). 6) + The pole of the dryer folds up like an umbrella, if you do not wish to dismantle properly through the wet months, it should fit easily into a corner of a bedroom or decent size cloaks cupboard. 7) + The dryer uses less electricity than a normal dryer, how can I tell, the red light on the electric box hardly flashes compered to when a normal dryer in use. 8) Washed clothes spin on max speed (about 1400) this will aid drying better. 9) +++ Little or no ironing is required on garments after being in dri-buddi. My sister is happy with this dryer, and knowing that 9 garments is the preferred max for hanging space, it helps her keep her wash load down from overflowing laundry baskets. This Dri Buddi is so good, I have also purchased one and it has proved valuable with typical UK winter weather conditions.

My huggable drying friend
My washer-drier died a few years ago and I couldn't afford to replace it like for like so had to make do with a stand-alone washing machine. A year or two of trying to dry clothes around the house left me looking for something to help me with the never ending pile of damp laundry. A friend mentioned the Dri Buddi she had seen and I was very pleased when I eventually bought it. It will not get through the same volume as a proper drier but it is kinder to your clothes and costs a lot less. As a young couple in a one bedroom house we manage quite well with this. The timer mechanism means you can leave it on for a couple of hours overnight or during the day while we are at work. It will generate a lot of moisture in the room so you need to leave a window open or an extractor fan on while it is drying. As it is situated in the kitchen I leave the extractor on while it's doing it's thing. The bag helps to keep kitchen smells off your clothes although I do try to empty it if I'm cooking. It does take up quite a bit of space you'll need a bout a meter square for somewhere for it to sit. Yes it will pack away nicely if you have a cupboard or box for it but I can't be bothered as it tends to be running once a twice a day so it has its own spot in the kitchen. You can peg your smalls to a hanger to dry them inside. It's best not to over fill it as it needs room for the air to move around inside so I tend to do 2 lots of dri buddying for a full washload. If you do this you can normally get clothes dry in 1-2 hours which isn't too bad as you just switch it on and leave it. It has warped some of the cheap plastic coat hangers I have used with it but I'll forgive it as it makes my life so much easier. Get some decent solid hangers to use with it and don't leave it on for too long to avoid melting them. I used to struggle to get one load of washing dry in a week, now I can easily get through 5-6 loads. This is great if you have a flat or small house without a lot of room for hanging clothes or a drier plus it's nice and warm if you want to give it a hug while it's running!

Excellent product, right for the job
As usual, I researched and compared to find the product best suited for my own purposes. I read Amazon (also asked questions) and other reviews including watching some YouTube videos (DriBuddi is now well known). I finally decided to buy this in preference to either a heated rack (inefficient by most accounts) or a compact tumble drier (twice the price and much higher power consumption). I'm very pleased so far. I bought the recommended plastic hangers and wooden pegs and used them to get the best positions for the items to be dried. This is important and folding and repositioning items enables you to get what you want dry in the shortest time. Two hours will probably be enough for several shirts, t-shirts, undies, socks etc after a wash and 1400 spin dry in the washing machine. Little or no condensation on the windows with one opened slightly. A slight criticism is the way the two-piece aluminium pole screws together and then into the base. It can be difficult to align the threads, especially if you need to dis- and reassemble it frequently. A longer mains lead would be better. By the way, without the pole and cover, the DriBuddi becomes a useful small room warmer! All in all, a well-designed and made and efficient product that folds away if necessary into the small box it comes in. But even partially or fully assembled its footprint is quite small.

Spacious and durable
The DriBUDDi is an excellent product as an alternative to a conventional dryer. My friends and I used this in our uni house as we had a washing machine but no tumble dryer. You simply have to take the wet clothes out of the washing machine, put them on hooks and then hang them up on the inside of the DriBUDDi. The DriBUDDi is very spacious inside and works like a charm. If I fill the DriBUDDi with clothes they will usually be dry within 4 hours. One con however is that is can tend to be loud, so I just leave it in the spare room with a window open. After continued use of the DriBUDDi i found that the screw in part of the frame became very stiff and needed WD40 to help it twist back and forward to assemble/disassemble. Also the bag that you put over the frame deteriorated over time and the zip broke on two sides, so we had to use safety pins to keep it tight enough to not let too much hot air escape. All in all the DriBUDDI probably had around 100 uses and still did the job on the final day. A great product!

Im pleased I bought my Dri Buddi
Im pleased I bought my Dri Buddi. Reading all the reviews both good and bad it took me a while to decide but its been the right decision for me so far. On sunny days the washing has a double spin and then goes outside (mostly on hangers on my airers). Later if necessary I use the Dri Buddi as an airing cupboard just to make sure the washing is completely dry. Most of the items dont need ironing and can go straight away. On colder/rainy days the washing has a double spin and if its a large load I put some things on the airer first (mostly on hangers) and the others go straight in the Dr Buddi. Again most things dont need ironing and can go straight away. Yes I agree with other reviews that it is diffcult to hang 18 items of clothing and dry them properly. Personally I hang as many items as I can as long as they do not touch each other or the sides/bottom of the Dry Buddi (10-14 items obviously depends on size). You need to allow the hot air to circulate easily. I use a mixture of hanger type and sizes. You dont have to use just child size hangers. I also use the multi hangers with the little pegs to dry underwear. Today Im using the Dri Buddi for some items I hung on the airer outside late afternoon and are not quite dry. The first load was one double quilt and two pillow cases (there was still room for smaller items). It was fully dry in less than an hour and with no need for ironing has gone away. The second load was one bath towel, two hand towels and two pillow cases (there was still room for smaller items). Dried in about half an hour with no need for ironing. There are only two of us so we dont have the washing of a large family. All in all I think it would work well for one to two people or to help if you had a baby and lots of their clothes to get dry.I also think it would be good for use in a flat or somewhere if you are short of space. For a large family I cant see it working if it was the only means of drying. You just have to be sensible on how you hang the items to get the best results. I probably hang less items than I could get away with sometims. We do have room for a tumble dryer in our kitchen but at the moment I am happy to have the Dri Buddi. It cost me less to buy and going by other reviews costs less to run and it has also reduced my ironing pile! :-) Ive yet to see how I get on this winter but fingers crossed it will help so I dont have so much wet washing hanging around the house.
