Q: Hi,i bought photocell from after installing this my other lights start flicking.my electrician its photocell faulty?

You can easily replace the top part without the assistance from an electrician to find out of the electronic part is faulty. I'd want to double check the correct installation. I can't imagine why even if faulty it would make other lights flicker.

Q: Does the unit require an earth?

Live and neutral in and live(switched)out to lights with neutral.no earth required,double insulated.

Q: I have a set of mains powered garden lights. Do I wire this into the plug for the lights?

No this would require being powered from a lighting circuit the wired from that to the lights using the switch live to active the lights

Yes - i have used this driving 4 GU10 LED lights- about 4w each. It works just fine.
