As person who has to swipe a badge all day I find this very well made and convenient. The cord is a good nylon type material and the badge holder itself is great quality. I have had several break and this one looks to be extremely tough. You can fit a badge and other cards in it at the same time. Nice value for a twin pack.

Very strong wire for retraction (becareful its quick when its new) Very strong material, not metal but hard plastic. The clear back makes it easy to scan a QR or barcode without having to remove said card. And even if you have to remove it, its very simplistic but also safe! Bottom of tag is where to push upwards to remove card. This is a nice feature because like others the bottom is how you remove the card, problems ive had in the past with product with a full open bottom is that overtime the card falls out due to wear and tear. This holder doesn't do that, its opening is at the top and even better, there is a part that pushes against the badges, which holds them in place without damaging the cards. Personally id recommend this, its retractable, durable, practical, and for as long as ive had it, ive had no issues with losing cards or damaging cards. They've stayed clean and I even have a debit card inside, it makes it possible to Tap pay without the need to remove the card. The clip also comes with a badge attachment, so if you wanted to attach a punched badge its possible. The clip is metal and very durable. Me and my coworkers have to pass the badge between shifts and so far no issues. Weve tried lots of badge holders in the past, this one is by far the best! TlDR 1. Practical and durable 2. Strong, sturdy and works flawlessly.

I purchased this after a lesser badge reel broke (in an unknown location), leaving me on a Monday morning without a work ID and without my building access card. Hassle! The main features for me are the apparently sturdy cord for the reel, and the heavy duty clip. Both seem to be well made and not prone to breakage. Also, there's a pressure feature in the badge holder that places pressure against the contents of the holder so it's less likely that the contents of the holder will slide out the top of the plastic holder. There are two weak spots, in my opinion. The first is the plastic strip that connects the wire reel to the badge/ID holder, and the plastic ID holder itself. The plastic strip loops through a gap in the hard plastic badge/ID holder and then snaps onto itself. It's pretty standard for a badge holder. However, it's a weak point, in that the snap isn't that difficult to undo. If it catches on clothing or a surface, the snap could release relatively easily The second weak point is the badge holder itself, which is rigid plastic, without reinforcement. I can imagine the plastic snapping (particularly in cold weather) if it were to smack against a particularly hard surface. If the break were at the slot where the plastic strip connects to the wire/reel, then the holder would fall off of the wire/reel. My solution, such as it is, is to thread the supplied key ring and the plastic strip through both my access card and the slot in the plastic holder. That will partially protect against failure of the plastic strip/snap. Alas, my badge does not have a slot to enable me to secure it to anything, so it's at the mercy of the plastic holder.

The best badge holder I've ever owned. It is truly heavy duty, which you can tell right out of the box by its weight and materials. The long cord allows me to scan my cards at readers comfortably, and the spring retracts with plenty of force. Highly recommended for daily work use.

Got in the building today so the scanner can read the card through the durable plastic. 4 years 4 badges that crack from being squeezed between me and the keyboard tray when I lean over to look closer at my screens. I don't want to walk that walk of shame to the building guy to ask for a new card again..this so far works well. It's very sturdy. I did add my own lanyard because I don't always have a pocket or belt loop to clip onto.

These last more than twice as long as the ones provided to me from my job. After almost 2 years the cable reel is just starting to wear out. Other ones wouldn’t even last 6 months.
