So are these sharp or ball point tip?

In Schmetz vocabulary, they're called normal "round point." The "CANU" numbers represent the size of the needle. If the tip isn't "round point," that will be designated after the CANU numbers. Say, "SES" or "SUK" if less/more rounded (there's a couple other designations.) If there is no designation, then it's normal "round point." It's sharp. But, there is an "SPI" designation which is an "acute round point" (sharper than the default needle).

what point are these?

Well, the seller should know, but if you look these up on sailrite dot com, this is how they describe them: "135x17 #14 (Pack 10) are high quality, round point needles." And in their sewing guide they clearly distinguish between round point and ball point needles, so it's not like they don't know the difference.

I do not know. I will say though that all of the needles I purchased did not work, did not fit, and I had to throw them all away.

Needle has a round shank no flat.

This is a industrial needle. It has a round shank there is no flat on the shank. All the info on this page says it has a flat it does not. Not sure why Amazon has incorrect info on this needle. Hope this helps someone.

Was listed for my Consew machine, but didn't work

These only work on a home sewing machine, not commercial as listed. When I asked for needles for my Consew these are what came up, so I ordered. They will work on my other machines not the one I ordered them for. Good price and work great otherwise. Just know they DO NOT work on a Consew machine.
