Sony Alpha 7C II Compact Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera (33MP, 4K 60p Video, AI Autofocus, 7-stop IBIS, Vari-Angle Screen - Ideal for Hybrid Creators, Travel, Vlogging & Content)

I have been a Sony Alpha camera user for many years and being so has given me technical and image satisfaction. This Alpha 7CII in it's focusing precision has given me particular pleasure as with the square in whatever colour you choose targets the subject you know that focus is assured!

Coming from an A7iv I was looking for a smaller body with similar performance - I’m happy to report that this does everything my A7iv did and then some. Positives: - Autofocus is exceptional, it’s hard to miss a shot - Ergonomics are wonderful and so pleasurable to use - Front dial is a great addition compared to the a7c - Image quality is identical to a7iv - Grip texture is improved compared to a7c Negatives - Screen and EVF are fine but would love to see them higher res in a future version If you’re looking for a camera with stunning image quality and incredibly reliable autofocus then look no further. I find this camera much more fun to shoot than my a7iv and it’s given me a refreshed interest in photography.

If you’re looking for a compact full frame camera, this is the best you can get. With almost identical dimensions to the Sony a6700 APSC camera, in hand they’re almost indistinguishable. Packed with features like the ai autofocus you can’t go wrong. However if you plan on predominantly using larger full frame lenses and telephoto lenses, the larger body of the traditional a7iv would feel more balanced and comfortable in hand. Surprisingly, the a6700 with the smaller apsc glass has a larger more comfortable grip than this compact full frame with larger glass so would recommend buying if you will use prime or compact lenses

Great camera

I bought the A7C II expecting a capable compact full-frame camera, but in real use it let me down badly. The body is just too small, and it feels uncomfortable and unbalanced with almost any lens on it. Ergonomics are poor, and the camera never felt stable in hand. Autofocus was the biggest disappointment… despite all the hype, I found it inconsistent, slow to react, and unreliable in situations where I needed it to perform. Overall, the A7C II was uninspiring to shoot with. Compared other systems, it feels like a step backwards in usability and enjoyment. I returned it because it didn’t meet expectations not the tool I’d trust for serious photography.

Perfect combination of size, weight, and features. Beautiful image, functions, resolution, it can be used professionally without a doubt. Perfect size for being a full flame sensor. Awesome camera.

Anfangs habe ich mir die normale 7c gekauft da sie schön klein und kompakt ist. Jedoch hatte die 7c keine gute Video Stabilisierung und generell keine guten Video Features (Codec uvm). Deshalb kaufte ich mir darauffolgend die Sony Alpha 7 IV. 1 1/2 Jahre benutzt. Alles top gewesen, außer die Größe der Kamera! Ich reise viel mit dem Motorrad und da zählt jeder Millimeter und jedes Gramm. Sehnsüchtig wartete ich auf die Alpha 7 C II. Und jetzt ist sie offiziell da. Die Sony Alpha 7 C II. Sie hat die selben Features wie die Sony Alpha 7 IV. On top kann sie noch etwas mehr. Focus Stacking und das größte Feature in meinen Augen: der neue KI Autofocus. Er erkennt nun Personen, auch wenn diese mit dem Rücken zur Kamera stehen oder auch wenn Objekte im Weg sind (zB Fotoshooting im Maisfeld). Mega Praktisch!! Noch dazu erkennt er jetzt Züge, Autos, Flugzeuge uvm. Hier würde ich mir noch einen Automatik Modus wünschen, ähnlich wie bei Canon. Was mir leider nicht so gut gefällt ist der 1.5x Crop bei 4k60. Aber immerhin haben wir jetzt 4k60 und Full HD 120p. Genauso wie der 7 IV mit den schönen 4:2:2 10 Bit Funktionen. Besonders gefällt mir: -4k60p, Full HD 120p -Klein und kompakt -33 MP Sensor der A7 IV -10 Bit 4:2:2 -Focus Stacking -Video Stabilisierung -AI (KI) Auto Focus -Custom Luts in Kamera -keine Überhitzung Weniger gefällt mir: -Preis im Vergleich zur A7c -4k60p 1.5x Crop -Wenig bis kein Zubehör in der Box -nur UHS2 Speicherkarten und keine Cf express -Micro HDMI (aber nutze ich eh nicht) - keine Möglichkeit mehr Kabelgebundene Fernauslöser zu verwenden. Man braucht jetzt einen mit Bluetooth. Alles in allem ein super Upgrade zur normalen 7c. Ich würde, trotz des höheren Preises zur 7c2 greifen wenn man auch Videos macht. Für reine Fotos reicht die normale 7c. Wenn man klein und kompakt möchte und einem der eine SD Kartenslot nicht stört dann greift zu. Für alle anderen empfehle ich die 7 IV.
