GVDV Pocket Knife Folding Knives, Cool Pocket Knives for Men, 7Cr17 Stainless...

I had wanted to get a switchblade knife - you know, the kind where you press a button and the blade flips out. I wasn't too impressed with the ones I saw after I compare them to this GVDV flick knife. Instead of pressing a button you flick a little bump protruding from the knife body, and the blade flicks out quickly and neatly. It has a great feel in the hand with a very grippy exterior surface. It's not flashy but it's all business. While the company which makes it is apparently headquartered in Germany, this knife is actually made in China. (Seems like almost everything is now.) The knife as received was very sharp and only took a dozen or so 'flicks' open to get past the initial lubricant stickiness; now it opens fully and quickly. It comes with a sharpening stone for those who are interested in such things, and the knife is in a velvet drawstring pouch so it makes a nice gift presentation. (My aunt told me once, if you gift someone with a knife you always include a dime or a quarter with it as a sign of goodwill, I guess... some sort of old tradition maybe?) I'm pleased with this knife and I think it a well worth its price.

I got this knife for my husband, he said he loves the style of it, it opens up very easily. The color of the knife and blade are nice together and it even comes with a sharpening stone! The price for this knife is unbeatable for the quality of it! Would recommend!

It’s a cool knife, definitely worth the price, I like the spring assisted opening and the handle is comfortable. It fits good in my pocket and it’s easy to carry around. I use the blade for everything and it’s done well so far.

Update: Great knife but DO NOT overtighten screw that blade pivots on. Screw stripped and now doesn't open properly. 😟 UPDATE. I oiled it and it's worked fine ever since. 😃 I have had different knives over the years from Lock blades, a butterfly knife, switchblade, stiletto, and all manner of pocket knives even a military grade combat knife. They are all long gone but for the price and the quality of this knife I was blown away. Yes I had a coupon but still even without a coupon it would have been under $20. I love the fact that it has machine screws that can be taken apart so if you need to clean it lubricate it whatever it is incredible craftsmanship. The fact that it comes with its own sharpening stone is a plus for me as well. I really like the stonewashed finish because I don't really want a bright shiny dinner knife. It's practical and extremely sturdy for the money and it's very easy to close. Having to get around with a pair of canes or a walker quite often times I only have one hand available. Having this open so easily is a real plus as well. I had never heard of this company before but I went on to look at their website and the other reviews and it made it an easy choice to purchase this one. UPDATE. With some oil I was able to make it work properly again! 👌

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this knife for the price. With shipping 32 dollars , I wasn’t expecting much. I have been collecting for years, and the weight was the first thing noticed , it felt more substantial then expected. The snap open action was pretty good also, I did apply a small amount of lubricant to make it better but overall great texture for gripping , blade stays tight no wiggle. Put together well.

Good knife just didn’t like to finish

GVDV is a great company that, after buying this knife, I now follow GVDV. I have always loved the Italian Stilleto style of folders. I used to own a switchblade. Although this knife isn't a switchblade, the style, steel type, and quality are worth the price from GVDV. The blade wasn't sharp out of the box, and It definitely took time to sharpen this knife. This is a good thing, because the steel is extremely durable and once it's razor sharp, it will no doubt keep the level of sharpness. Luckily the knife came with a stone to maintain the edge. It opens quickly as well, and is now my edc.
