Bought on a whim, not expecting much at the price, for the UV function. First impression is one of a nicely built object, it feels sturdy and solid in the hand. The switch is positive and the zoom is silky smooth. The included batteries are easily loaded into the battery magazine and this slides neatly into the torch body. I put the magazine back in the way it was delivered, pressed the switch, and nothing! Having checked the polarity of the batteries, I put it in again and still nothing. Decided to look at the instructions, the diagram clearly shows that the battery magazine goes in opposite to the way it is delivered. Pressed the switch and GOOD GRIEF!!! This little beast is bright, even in a daylight lit room, it projects a wide circle of light onto a wall 8m away. It cycles through the light options on a half press of the switch, bright white, half power, flashing and UV. I am struggling to understand the few one star reviews, it does exactly what the description says, and I would suggest they are caused by user error. The torch does not work if the battery pack is the wrong way round (obvious). The torch cycles between 4 modes, one reviewer gave it 1 star because it actually does this (bizarre). The blue light contains UV, which human eyes cannot see, you can see the included blue frequencies, but they are fairly dim, it is not supposed to be used to find your way in the dark, by blue light... who would do that... but yet one reviewer gave it 1 star because she could not see much with the blue light. Point it at something that flouresces when UV impinges on it and boy does this torch light it up. Not a disco black light in your pocket but a very useful tool. I paid less than £9 for this and it is superb value, so good I have spotted that there is a 2-pack for £11 and just ordered two more. Both sons want one too. Highly recommended, well deserving of 5 stars.

I bought this for my autistic son. He got loads of presents at Christmas but never let this go. Its ultra bright. You can zoom in and out. Has a strobe function and the UV light is amazing for annoying the wife too see if she's cleaned properly. Really sturdy and works amazing

- Very sturdy- VERY good size (I have large hands and smaller torches feel annoying, this is neither too big nor too small so feels perfect to hold)- Very good brightness- Nice functions (bright, dim, flashing, UV)- Should be waterproof as it's very airtightThe button can be either partly pressed or fully pressed.-partly pressed, it switches between the four functions-fully pressed, it switches on and off.Which brings us to its only problem:You'd assume that turning it off and the on again would start from bright light. Instead, it starts from where you left off when you last switched it off.This would matter if you have it switched off in your pocket and then you want it for an emergency and before you are able to use it you need to switch between all its functions first.And imagine how this will seem to others if this would be part of your work as a security or police etc (it can turn into a small comedy).Besides this problem this is probably the best flashlight you can find at this price.

August 2022 edit: 4 years on and this is still working perfectly and is probably used a few times a week. It does go through the batteries quite fast but it’s a strong torch so that’s to be expected. Can I give 6 stars?Happy with this. Strong, bright light, floods on wide beam and throws far with the narrow beam. UV needs to be close up or on the narrow focussed beam for best effect. Item arrived in April and still working fine at the end of May. So far the batteries seem to be lasting well.

This is a great little torch. It's described as a 2-in-1 but there are four functions really. Or even five. There's a very bright mode, which pretty much turns night into day. There's also a standard brightness mode, a flashing mode and the ultraviolet mode, which is useful. I then discovered a zoom function (simply extend the length of the torch) which focuses or widens the beam as required. There's also a handy clip as well as a wrist strap. Recommended.

Excellent. Way exceeded my expectations as I was only looking for a UV torch, but this item has four modes of operation: UV source, low intensity light, high intensity light and strobe effect facility. The high intensity light is almost as powerful as a searchlight. At c.£10-00, it is fantastic value for money and maybe even under-priced.

The button on the end for turning on the torch & choosing the mode is a much easier way of turning on & off than a button on the barrel. The zoom is by sliding the lens in & out & is very smooth. The build qulity is very good & should give a long service life. The UV led is a nice touch & although not bright does show up things otherwise not visible under normal white light. It is possible to use 3 AA batteries, but would suggest the 18650 for longer life btween charges.

Really useful, very bright and a good beam adjustment. 2 brightness settings, a strobe setting and a UV light mode, each activated by clicking through with the power button until you reach the required mode. The UV light (which was the main reason for buying this) is good, but of a weaker beam than the normal light - does exactly what I need it too though. Very tough (already dropped in on concrete) and sturdy.

This product is small, lightweight (but still feels durable), comes with a removable strap that is not shown on the pictures on this listing on Amazon. Otherwise, it looks exactly the same as shown on the pictures on the listing.The UV light worked really well. I bought this product to test the UV protection of my sunglasses because I heard that the UV coating can wear out over time with use. In case you're interested, I did this by pointing the UV light on a currency (I used a US $5 bill) in a dark room and the security feature will glow. Place the lens of your sunglasses in front of the UV light and the security feature should disappear. If it's still there, the lenses of your sunglasses need to be replaced because it is not providing UV protection anymore.The UV light also works well in detecting urine stains in your toilet. I used it on mine and help me know which areas I need to clean.The flashlight feature also works well. There are three flashlight modes: bright, dim, and strobe (blinking). I read from one of the reviews that the strobe light is the morse code for SOS. I cannot understand morse code but if that is true, this flashlight is also great for emergencies especially when you are outdoors. But even if someone cannot understand morse code, the blinking lights will surely attract attention if you need help. The bright and dim lights can also zoom in and out.One thing to note is that when you turn off the light, it will switch to the next mode the next time you turn it on. The modes in order are bright, dim, strobe, and UV. Thus, if you used the UV light prior to turning it off, it will switch to the bright light the next time you turn it on. It will be more convenient if the same mode is used the next time you turn it on. However, I've noted that it only takes a few seconds to switch back to the mode that you need.
