Small factor with great features
The D4PRO is a powerful dash/reverse cam in a small form factor. The packaging was very nice, with good protective covers for all of the lenses, and the including cables for the reverse camera were generous with their length, being long enough to use on SUVs and trucks alike. There are two separate USB ports that you can use, one on the GPS base at the top of the unit, or further down on the camera itself, the former being more convenient if you are running the cabling under panels. Also included is an extremely convenient panel tool, which made pulling panels and hiding cables MUCH easier. The front-facing camera, while having a very decent FOV, can record video in 2K or 4K resolution, which is super helpful when extra detail is needed (such as being able to read the plates on the vehicles in front of you!). The reverse camera records in 2K has a very large FOV, and can be set up to turn on when you put your car in reverse by connecting an extra included cable to a backup light. Both front and rear cameras record excellently during both day and night, with the video adjusting to a night vision mode that enables you to see details in low-light situations clearly.A really cool feature made available on this unit is its phone connectivity. While the camera records internally on a micro SD card, you can also download the Kingslim app to directly stream and download videos from the dashcam! This is really convenient, especially in a world with more and more streaming options versus needing to own a physical card reader. Connecting the phone is very simple, using a built-in WI-FI connection to link the unit to your phone. A GPS is also built into the top connecting base, which can show additional information such as MPH during a recording. While the built-in screen is fairly small, the menus are well-designed and the buttons are responsive. However, the small screen is not an issue due to the convenient streaming you can do on your phone. Overall, I would suggest this unit for anyone who would like something fairly small, discreet, and powerful for ease of mind.

1 month review
After using this product for approximately 1 month I feel I can give a useful review. It does what it's intended for, which is record forward and backwards while driving or sitting. The screen is only 1 inch by 2 3/4 inches, so you're not going to be doing any serious viewing on that. It has Wi-Fi where you can link up with the camera onto your phone. But you can only do this when stationary. Once the camera is working and you're driving it will not pair. The app you download works well and is fairly simple. My one complaint is when you replay a video on your phone it buffer's quite often. You can choose one, or two, or three minute loops while recording. I chose the 2 minute loop. I downloaded a two minute Loop and it took about 3 or 4 minutes, not very fast. It has built in memory but not a lot so I would suggest getting a memory chip. It's supposedly has a feature where you can wire the back camera to the brake light and it will assist in backing up, but considering the size of the screen it shouldn't really be an option. When I hooked it up it didn't work anyways so no loss there. The camera does get power from up front so it's not necessary to wire it up to anything in the , it's the red wire in case you're . The book that it came with is basic and to the point, and I feel written by somebody that has English as a second language. Once you play around with the controls on the unit for a while you'll get used to it. This is my first vehicle cam so I can't compare it to something else. I looked online for reviews for this particular camera and there was maybe two videos which really didn't give me a great insight into this unit. If you're looking for something you can look at every once in awhile while you're driving I would go with the unit prior to this which appears to have a larger screen. Personally I don't need that distraction. If you're on the budget I would go with the earlier model as this one was a little more pricey. It has sound, which I have turned off since I tend to talk to myself while driving. I don't need that on the video if and when I have to use it officially with the police or Court. It does have voice commands which I've tried early on and didn't have much success with. So I could have got the earlier model and probably been as happy. The recordings are very clear and you also have the ability to take a snapshot. The camera does flip around to look in the cabin but then you wouldn't be seeing what's in front of you so I don't know what the point is there. Maybe if you get stopped by the police you can quickly flip it around to show the interior in case he's accusing you of not wearing a seatbelt. Or maybe you just want to look at yourself on video at some point. In total, it's not all it could be, I'm happy with it so I guess that's all that matters. If it dies next week I won't be happy. Time will tell.

Great price to performance dashcam
The media could not be loaded. Great price/performance dashcam that is hitting up against the limits of what is possible with current sensor tech!Setup for this was trivially easy - I went ahead and purchased a 15W usb C charger to pair with it instead of using the one in the box so I could still charge my phone while the dashcam was in use. Setup consisted of routing a 12ft usb c PD cable around the edge of my car and up to the camera - the camera mounts to the windshield so camera quality will definitely be effected by how clean your windshield is!I was really impressed by how wide the field of view for the camera is - with 4k recording you still get good detail - generally enough to see license plates, though that can be hit or miss on bumpy roads at night. The settings out of the box worked great for me - one small note I did have was I needed to format my memory card in the unit for it to work correctly - took a few minutes to figure that out until I thought to read the manual!Overall, a solid product at a reasonable price - excited to see where these dashcams go as the Sony Starvis sensors get better!
