We've had Arlo camera outdoors and indoors for several years. We switched from a traditional security system to solely Arlo last year, and it’s been one of the best long-term purchases we’ve made. The hardware is tough. Ours have made it through brutal winter cold, ice, and heavy storms without skipping a beat. Pairing the outdoor ones with Arlo’s solar panels means we literally never have to worry about charging batteries. The picture quality is crisp, and the app is super intuitive. The smart features, especially person and package detection, actually work well and cut down on false alerts. Plus, being able to easily tweak notifications, trigger alarms, or adjust security zones right from our phone makes it really practical for everyday use. Highly recommend.

I’ve been using Arlo wireless cameras for a while now and I’m genuinely impressed with the overall experience. Setup was straightforward, the app is intuitive, and the cameras connected without any hassle. The video quality is excellent both during the day and at night. Motion detection is accurate, alerts are timely, and I like how customizable the notification settings are so I’m not constantly getting unnecessary alerts. Battery life has also been solid, which is a big plus for a truly wireless system. What really stands out is the peace of mind. Being able to check in remotely, review clips, and know my property is being monitored has been well worth it. The build quality feels premium and the system has been reliable with no random disconnects. If you’re looking for a dependable wireless security camera system with great video quality and a user friendly app, Arlo is a strong choice. I’d definitely recommend it.

There is some combination of settings I use in their app that will brick these cameras permanently with no ability to factory reset. I haven't figured out which combination of settings it is, but it seems that it might just be safer to keep the cameras at their out-of-the-box settings if you want to avoid bricking the product. This is garbage coding by the manufacturer. It's easy enough to return a new one, but you are out of luck (and money) if you brick an older one. Pretty cool business model to place a trap door in your firmware code that forces people to buy your product again. EDIT: figured out the trick to re-syncing these when you get stuck with the blue light long flash. What's happening is that when you have gone into the app and removed the camera, it can no longer connect to your wi-fi. The issue is that it is STILL creating and trying to upload recordings nonetheless. When you go to perform the reset and reconnect steps they wont work because you are handling the camera and generating new recordings by creating motion. The trick is to: 1. Make sure the camera is fully charged. 2. Set the camera on a shelf in a well-lit room, facing a static scene like a wall or at objects that will have no motion from things like shadows, movement or lights being turned on/off. Leave it here for whatever amount of time it needs to complete trying to record/upload. Wait until the long blue light flash stops plus some time for good measure. 3. Press the pair button on the camera for 3 seconds but do so while holding the camera perfectly still and not generating a shadow in the view of the camera - all of this while facing the static scene you created. This should give you the fast blue light flash we need. 4. start the "add device" process in the app. 5. the add device process will tell you this device has been previously paired and needs to be reset. 6. press the pair button on the camera again, this time for 15-20 seconds (or until you see an amber light flashing) - again, hold the camera perfectly still. 7. Wait until the amber light stops flashing, then press the pair button again to get the fast blue light flash. 8. tell the app to attempt to connect to the device again. This time the app should find the camera. 9. in my case, the app froze when attempting to name the camera. If this happens, close/terminate the app. Re-open the app and go into the settings for the camera you just successfully added. It will have an error message that "onboarding must be completed", click that and complete the rest of the setup if necessary. What a farce. This company needs to fire their developers and bring on new people to improve this code/logic.

I have been very satisfied with Arlo cameras and products. Have had up to 6 units at one time and they work very well. I have had no problems or issues setting up and once set up as I wanted, only very little maintenance such as charging. Recommended.

This is such a nice little camera! It was super easy for me to install the app on my phone and set up an account. I don't love that you need to pay to have the benefits though. You have the option for a free trail for 30 days. It has the mount and nails to mount it and that was also very easy and straightforward! It took about 5 minutes to set everything up. It is super sensitive so we toned down the sensitivity because we were getting notifications constantly so that was so nice! It has night vision, sensitivity levels, spot light, and audio settings. It's so nice that we can customize it to what we need. The picture is so clear and the video is even better! It takes little videos that are easy to watch and easy to delete if you don't want them. I do wish that it could swivel but it only goes side to side not up and down. It's nice too that you can recharge it. I've had it going for 3 days and it's at 75% battery! It uses the common iPhone charger so l don't need a special one. It took about 1.5 hours to charge it when I got it out of the box. It's such a great little security camera and I love how easy the app is to use!!

The terrible battery life and subscription requirement for recording are my only complaints. We have several older Arlo Pro cameras (no subscription needed) and have been happy with them. We needed another camera quickly and ordered this one. We have it in an area with very low activity and only have it turned on maybe half time. The battery runs down in no time. We don't pay for a subscription so it doesn't even record and it still runs low on charge very quickly. I finally decided to add a solar charging panel out of desperation. As long as it's in a sunny spot it seems to be helping keep it in the 70 percent charge range anyway. It does need a specific type of solar charger as well. I have the Arlo one which is very small. I read the other brands that are compatible with it charge better.
