The frames are thin overall, so I don't think that I would.

I do not know what the lens is made of. I bought these glasses to take on vacation to Alaska. The first sunny day I took them out of my own hard case I brought them in before I ever wore them and the lens had fallen out! I returned them to Amazon when I got home. The seller reached out to me and sent a replacement pair free of charge which I just received and am just trying out. With customer service like that you can't complain.
