The Phantom: Legacy And The Law

This book would be a welcome to those who do not know much about The Phantom or his origins, and would be an excellent gift to the Phantom fan as his 75th anniversary is upon us.I found the first part of this book (Legacy) to be interesting, even though the print made it difficult to read in some places, but I found it enjoyable. The oath that the first Phantom took to fight piracy, injustice and cruelty, and that it was passed on from generation to generation of the Walker family.The second part (The Law) was mared by the graphics I thought, as they did not appeal to my visual senses as they seem to be one dimensional and to the point of downright stupid. Every artist has his or her own style of painting or drawing, but I did not like these at all.The story was interesting as it was from the victim's eyes, who was striving to condone what he was to do and had done, and in the end, tries to lay the blame onto someone else for what has transpired. The Law is the law no matter which jungle we live in, the only thing is, in some jungles The Law is metered out with justice (as its base) and to the full extent of The Law.I would recommend this book to anyone new to The Phantom as it portraits the Legacy and the Law behind the original Phantom and his sons for an eternity.

the writting was hard to read in some places too small

This is not a "graphic novel" as I had expected, it is an illustrated novella similar to Phantom Generations. This was not clear from the Moonstone website prior to ordering, so steer clear if you're after a "comic" in the traditional sense. The artwork is terrible especially The Law of the Jungle artwork. Not my cup of tea at all.

The story of the very first Phantom is a treat.
