Packed full of games, keeps my nephew occupied for hours.
So it's no Gameboy and not what I'd call a premium quality device, however it is pretty good fun and considering the size it's packed full of games. There are a lot of copies of some titles you'll no doubt recognise from back in the day, even some well known household classics. I gifted it to my nephew who is a high functioning autistic and it really does keep his mind occupied, especially during longer car journeys etc. Not a bad little purchase for £18.99 if you in search of cot effective ways of keeping little minds occupied.

No, your eyes aren't going funny.
All of the pics of the included games here are fuzzed out. There's a reason. They're all 'hooky' copies of NES games. If that doesn't sit well with you, then this handheld game isn't for you. You can't change the included games, so you're kind-of stuck. If that's not a problem for you - say you legally own all of the carts anyway, then here's a cheap and cheerful way of playing them. They're faithfully recreated here with minimal 'screen tearing' and not bad sound on a screen that is serviceable. The idea of being able to hook it up to a screen and add another controller into the mix (also included) is nice. One huge drawback, which may turn out to be a deal-breaker for you is that this thing cannot save anything - So progress is lost when you turn the machine off. I think this has dictated which games they've included on this thing. This is purely a pick-up, play for a while and then turn it off for a clean slate. No high-scores, not level progress saves. The controls are pretty nasty - conductive rubber and lots of dead-skin squishiness - but, at the end of the day, it isn't far removed from what the NES felt like if truth-be-told.There are a couple of 'strange' inclusions of hacked roms. Mario 14 anyone? But, it's easy to look down your nose at this, but it is good fun. It would absolutely fill a long car journey with things to play and it is far, far better than those 'mini arcade machines' that do feature 'original' games - which are shockingly bad in comparison.Would I say that this was worth a little over £20? Definitely. Would you still be playing this is a few months - probably not. Is it a nice little trip down memory lane, that you won't worry too much about if you left it on the train? 100%.

Famiclone
I love these little things. This is a handheld Famiclone. It is essentially 8bit hardware on a single chip, and not emulator running on modern hardware. So don't expect a battery indicator, saves, or HDMI out. With this in mind you can start to understand what it does betterI've got a few of these now and each is a little different from the other. This one is blue one has 400 games. As well as the device you have a mini USB cable for recharging, a second controller for player two, a composite AV cable and small guide. The device won't win any awards for quality but appears to be strong enough for the task. The screen is reasonable quality for the price. The buttons feel a bit sticky but seem to work reasonably well. The battery is rechargeable battery and is a bl-5cb.On start up you can select the language. This needs to be done each time. There a ton of games and while I haven't tested all 400, there appears to be a little to no repetition. There are some good games on here, and a few that you probably don't know. The colour palette, like all famiclones, is a little brown. The sound does have some underlying noise, but it isn't the worst I've encountered.. The composite video output isn't bad and the second controller seems to work well. This is an essentially an 1980s device under the skin, and with that in mind it is a fun little retro gaming device.

Blast From the Past in Palm Size!
I ordered this little piece of nostalgia on a whim, and to be honest, it's been a wild ride down memory lane. For just £21.99, I wasn’t expecting a high-end device, but it still had its moments of fun.Let's start with the games. 400 classic handheld games promised? Sweet! But if you're like me and were hoping for some 90s gems, well, the game selection leans more toward the late 80s. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of classic fun in there, but if you weren't gaming in that era, the nostalgia might miss the mark a bit for you. The screen quality was decent for the price. It's vibrant enough to give you a clear view of those pixelated classics. The console’s design is compact, making it ultra-portable. Great for when you're on the move, but this also means it's pretty tiny in hand. I found it comfortable, though someone with bigger hands might feel a bit cramped. 🤏 It's also worth noting the console feels lightweight and the build quality is alright. Not spectacular, but it does the job. The bonus? It supports 2 players, which means you can have some retro gaming action with a friend. And, if you fancy going big screen, it hooks up to the TV too – nice touch! 📺For its price point, it's a neat gift idea, especially for someone who’d love a flashback to the gaming world of yesteryears. Just remember, it's more of a fun novelty rather than a high-end gaming gadget.Pros:👍 Compact and portable👍 2-player support and TV connection👍 Decent battery life with 800mAh rechargeable batteryCons:👎 Game selection leans toward the late 80s👎 Console size might be a bit small for some👎 Build quality is just fine, not top-notch

It's ok for a portable retro machine. Not many 'good' games though
It's ok for a portable retro machine but there's not many 'good' games though apart from a few and a lot are clones or modded so wouldn't be something most would enjoy. For the most part though, the games I knew played well and the system connected up to my TV with the 2nd pad for 2 player use and all worked as expected. Screen is perfectly viewable unlike some you see so at least that's something. There's no way to update or change the roms on this machine though unfortunately, if that was an option i'd have given it 5 stars, even if it had SD card reading options for rom use would be fine.
