Massive. Three times bigger than I expected which was at first intimidating until I saw how brilliantly the book is organized.It has the cleverest and most useful table of contents I've ever seen. Each section title, whatever the nesting level, is a description of that section's primary message/learning/take-away which means the TOC itself reads like a precis of the book that can be 'zoomed' in or out according to how much detail you choose to read. Ingenious!

Although dense, it is a great book to read / study if you want to learn about Neuroscience. The chapters are well organised and it is easy to read and understand the contents, especially with the help of the illustrations. As a personal opinion, I believe it should be mandatory for someone who wants to be a neuroscientist.

By far the most comprehensive general book on Neural Science. Had been recommended by many research and lecturing staff at University.Am doing 2nd year courses in Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Physiology and have been taking extras in Psychology through my contacts. Thoroughly recommend to academics of all levels alongside access to scientific literature.

The size of a breezeblock and weighs a tonne. Great book for degree level/ masters study. Well organised information and good diagrams. And if you don't agree, it can also be used to prop open doors or as a small stool

Really well written, up to date research. Review must be taken with a pinch of salt as it will take me years to read it.Can double as a footstool, breeze block or blunt bludgeoning instrument. It is huge.

A really clear, well written textbook. The material is covered in detail, but the presentation is never confusing - for a scientific textbook, it's extremely readable.

Es ideal para estudiantes de esta área (neurofisiología) y para profesionales de la salud.Totalmente recomendado, de fácil lectura y muy cómodo para leer (tamaño de letra y esquemas).Este libro particularmente lo uso para el posgrado en Ciencias Fisiológicas y es un texto de consulta el cual explica de manera clara y concisa cada uno de los conceptos de la Neurofisiología y mecanismos básicos (moleculares, eléctricos, anatómicos).Lo recomiendo ampliamente para estudiar Neurofisiología, ya sea que seas estudiante de neurociencias, biomédicas, o simplemente eres apasionado al tema.

Studente di Medicina, ho trovato in questo libro un valido supporto di approfondimento per lo studio della neuroanatomia (ovviamente sul piano funzionale, es. nuclei della base, cervelletto, sensi speciali) e della neurofisiologia.La chiarezza espositiva è tale che preferisco questo libro al Conti che pure rappresenta la base del mio studio. Il Kandel si presta molto di più ad una lettura scorrevole, mentre il Conti ha una impostazione più organica per la quale ad ogni concetto è dedicato un singolo paragrafo esplicativo.Ho comprato la versione inglese perchè costava €50 in meno, e masticando la lingua, la versione italiana mi è sembrata sprecata. Con un buon livello di inglese, il libro può solo far che bene spingendo a ricercare il significato dei pochi termini scientifici che possono solo arricchire la propria preparazione.
