Clip-Type Microphone Holder (Standard)

Does the job
There is a little difference between the picture and the clips I received. Rather than having thick plactic all the way up a tapered cylindrical base, mine has a short cylindrical base that flattens before reaching the screws, so that chromed screw heads sit brightly on a flat surface. Although less attractive and probably less robust than what was advertised, the clips seem acceptably strong. Two slight inconveniences exist. One is that the holes are somewhat larger than the screws that go through them. This gives wobble, even when the screw tension is pretty tight. You tilt the mic up, and then it flops back a little bit. You have to tilt the mic up and then back down to the desired position. The other inconvenience is that, if the screws are loose, you reach into your pocket for a coin to tighten them up a little. Then you find that the slot is too narrow for a penny, or even a dime. Now you trot off to find a screwdriver, or you dull the edge of your pocket knife for this very basic, should-be-simple task. Making these screw slots fit a coin would seem a no-brainer.Also, the connections are solid to solid throughout, so if you clamp your mic and then touch the stand, those vibrations go straight into your broadcast. Maybe some Kleenex or adhesive rubber pads inside the clip will help; I'll get to trying that. Otherwise, keep your stands away from where people might bump them. This isn't an expensive product, and it does a decent job for the price. It grips the microphone, which was what I wanted.

I wouldn't buy this again..the circle ones are better but was able to use to hold tablet
Clamp isn't as safe as the circular flex mic holders But, clamp can be used for tablets or sheet music. Other items. CAmera.

Well made
I have bought similar items in the past, only to have the plastic jaws snap off under the strain of use. Usually this is because the plastic is thin and flimsy. Not so with these -- they have a solid feel, a secure grip and a durable spring.I bought two, but it looks like I won't be needing the backup for some time to come.

Buy in Bulk!
I prefer using these "clip-type" mic holders, as opposed to the molded, pre-formed, non-adjustable mic holders. I feel like they are compatible with a wider variety of mic sizes & types... and IMHO they are much easier to use. Musician's Gear makes the best ones. They won't last forever, so buy a bunch of 'em (yes they break).... but what do you expect for a few bucks! Fast shipping too.

Use for church
We use these for our church mikes. They are cheap and they hold up well. They also hold the variety of microphones needed. Almost everybody can figure out how to use them which is useful since many of the people speaking do not have experience.

Durable and well designed
I bought four of these so the members of my quartet would quit leaving the mics in places where they could easy fall and become damaged. They work well and secure the mics when they're idle...easy to insert and remove SM58 style mics.
