The Ban.do Match Holder With Striker Decor is an adorable way to store matches in a decorative yet functional manner. Interestingly, the Amazon product page lists the dimensions of the piece as 3.75" x 4" while the product box lists the dimensions at 2.75" x 3". The piece that I received is 2.75" x 3.25". I hope that the manufacturer will update the dimensions shown on Amazon to reflect the product packaging measurement as that was a closer measurement to the product that they actually send out. The cake is a pink color with hot pink and whipped cream accents. It is even cuter in person than the product photos depict. The ceramic piece is well built and has a good weight to it where it does not feel flimsy and is painted neatly and has no obvious paint flaws. There are 6 spots to place the matches to look like 6 candles on a birthday cake. When I used standard sized matches, it looked so cute but it is noticeably not as tall as the product photos depict. To match this look, you will need taller matches. The extra candles are held underneath the main dollop of whipped cream. Due to its built-in lip in the whipped cream topper, I was able to fit 20 matches comfortably while allowing for the whipped cream dollop to sit comfortably and flat against the cake top. The striker is conveniently located on the base of the cake. The only negative I have for this piece is that once the striker portion is worn out, there is no replacement striker sticker included in the order. I hope that in future efforts, the manufacturer includes a replacement striker sticker. The piece is placed in a simple white cardboard box making it ready to tuck into a gift basket or gift bag. It can be given for any special occasion.  It was Designed in the USA (Los Angeles, CA) and Made in China. I love the look of this piece and know that it will get a lot of use in our home.

Cute and fun for a birthday party but not very practical outside of that. Matches get stuck inside and it's awkward to turn it over in order to strike the match while it's holding other matches.

Hello friends, I selected this ban.do match holder with striker decor for a kitchen.This is such an unusual product. It is a ceramic cake with holes for placing match sticks. The very middle has a dollop of whipped cream that is the lid to a small storage area for extra matches. It is delicate and could easily break if dropped. It doesn't seem to be the most practical item by design, but it does get so much attention when it is out. Everyone wants to know what it is and how it works. It's really just a novelty. I think if someone has a gas lit stove it would get a little more use than usual in a kitchen. I found it to be better suited as a cake topper for a birthday cake. A cheap set of candles with a plastic bottom fits inside each slot. Matches are difficult to use for candles versus an actual candle. With real candles, it's nice and organized. I think it's a unusual oddity that will attract the right kind of person as a work of art. It's funny how it makes me happy. Even though it has no particular use. It will make you smile for some strange reason. You'll see.

Though it is cute, it is extremely small. Also, it does not work as a match box! The matches fall through the holes, also if you put matches in the middle, they will get stuck and you won't be able to remove them, if you stick the matches upright so they don't fall, the lid will not fit! For $20 buy literally anything else and it would work better than this

My headline pretty much sums up my thoughts on this product. Overall, I think this was a charming product idea. It was much smaller than I expected, but that didn't detract from its usability and only increased its cuteness. My main issue is with the packaging of the item. While it is true that a bubble envelope probably isn't a great shipping vessel, I find the actual ban.do packaging to be a little disappointing.My product arrived mainly whole, but upon further inspection, I found chips and cracks on the inside of the lid. Thankfully, since the damage was on the inside, it is hidden from view, but it's still annoying to think about. The box is just a thin cardboard; if my luck had been worse, I could have gotten a broken one.Considering how delicate the product is, you would assume they would have put more thought into the packaging. Sure, I can see it being okay if sold in stores, but as a manufacturer that's selling products that need to get shipped, I find that detail on their part quite lacking.Regardless of my opinion on the packaging though, I do think that the actual match holder itself is still great. It's a novel idea and makes for an especially cute gift.

I love (LOVE) basically anything that Ban.do puts out, so when I saw this cake-shaped match holder, you *know* I jumped at the opportunity to grab it! It is just so cute I can hardly stand it. It's the perfect blend of kitsch and cute and mod. It's smaller than you'd expect--it fits tidily into the palm of my hand--and the "whipped cream" dollop is the lid that covers the opening where you can store more matches.I don't actually plan on using it for match storage--if I do, I will only keep them in the center, not in the outer holes (maybe I'll put some cute cute birthday candles in those though...!) and here's why: I thought that maybe the striking area--you know, for the matches--would be on the side of the "cake," or somewhere accessible, right? But, it's not. It's just a little strip of...basically match strike tape?...stuck onto the bottom of the cake. I don't know how you'd safely light a match without having to hold the cake up over your head so you could access the strip--if you turned it over, the other matches + whipped cream would fall out.But, like I said, it's beyond cute, and I love it more than I can stand, in the best way!
