Works great in the foothills
This will not work with just any "Unlimited Data" sim card. It has to be a Data Only Hotspot type sim card. These negative reviews don't know what they are doing. Works great, picks up 5G well in the foothills where I live. Miles from closest city. Getting 100mbps down and 25mbps upload.

It worked for an hour, then the power supply died
Tried contacting Amazon to send me a new PoE power supply, but its an automated procedure. For something like this you cant talk to a computer.

Modem works well, but odd "password sticker" issue. Weak PoE injector.
The modem provides a good high-speed connection via the TMobile 5G network. I am using a Mint SIM card, and am seeing 50MBit/sec symmetric (!) speeds even in less than ideal reception conditions. The modem includes everything needed, including a very long ethernet cable that plugs in via a "water proofed" attachment plate. The built quality is okay with a lot of plastic. I have yet to see how it holds up to actual outdoor use.Couple of reasons why I only gave it 3 stars:- The included PoE injector appears to be a bit too weak. It worked ok with some ethernet cards, but with others (like the one in my firewall), I did not get an ethernet link. Replacing the PoE adapter with another one I had sitting around fixed the issue.- The manual mentions a default password that should be provided via a sticker in the manual. The spot for the sticker in the manual is empty. The modem works out of the box after inserting the SIM card without issues, but you can't check the status of the connections or make any adjustments without the password. I was about to pack it up and send it back for this reason but discovered that the sticker was inside the box and not attached. It is pretty small and easily lost. There are two stickers. Attach one to the manual and one to the device itself so it doesn't get lost. I have no idea if it will hold up at all outdoors. The password appears to be specific to the modem. It is 8 "random" uppercase letters and numbers.

ZTE makes accessing manuals very difficult
I am having a problem with the unit and have decided to buy an Outdoor Router unit that I have purchased in the past and have no problems with. This one seemed to work ok, but there is some issue with internet access through it on my network. Another user has stated that T mobile data plans with this are subject to throttling. In any case, I need an easier solution, so will never buy a ZTE product again.

The crazy thing worked!
I've been looking for an external 5G gateway, and I thought this device was too good to be true. It's cheaper than an external antenna for an internal gateway. I threw the thing up on top of my house with a Mint SIM, and the crazy thing worked. No mess, no smell. It just worked. It's not crazy fast, but that has more to do with my proximity to the tower. For the record, my password was on a set of stickers that was included in the box. I'm very pleased with this unit.

Great value and works well with T-mobile data plan
Great value. Worked straight out of the box with my T-mobile data plan. Only tried indoors yet, but it looks promising. Using as a back up connection.

With a T-Mobile plan it will not work with a router, T-Mobile blocks it.And no TTL setting.
With a T-Mobile plan it will not work with a router, T-Mobile blocks it.I even tried to to hook a Ethernet splitter up to run multiple devices and as soon as you plug another device up it will block it.Tmobile has done got smart. And it doesn't have TTl settings. If you only need to run one device at a time with only a Ethernet hookup this will work fine.It does run fast 5g though.I may get a cheap mvno plan to see if it will get blocked and update my post.

Acts as a hotspot
Great value, great speeds. But using T-mobile sim card, the internet usage is counted towards your hotstop data.
