I cannot get any known working SAS drives to spin up in this. Does this not support the power disable feature or do I need to tape off pin# 3?

I've only ever had SATA drives work with it.

Is the door plastic or metal? How sturdy is the door hinge?

The door is plastic but the mechanism is sturdy and works well. No issues getting drives to eject.

Will this work with the rsv-l4500 server case?

It fits a standard 5 1/4 drive bay (same size as a standard CD/DVD/BluRay drive).
