Soft Start for RV Air Conditioning Auxiliary Starter, RV A/C Smart Control Kit Enables Easy Start an A/C & Appliances on RV Power with a Small Generator

As others have said, there are no instructions in the box. I searched and found them for 5-wire soft start products by a company that starts with Briide A. They cover the many variations of installations and direct you to the correct procedure. Using these excellent instructions it was easy peasy. I had three units of which I had two different models of Coleman Mach heat pumps. Coleman/Airexcel have a LOT of different models so be sure to find your model number in the lower left corner of the yellow schematic inside the weather cover of your unit. I know the warranty is slim to none on these units but at this price point I can't complain. I previously used soft start products from Briidea and they appear to work the same.

I was able to just use the instructions from the namebrand soft start as this is a clone at a fraction of the price, but it doesnt work at all. It starts the compressor immediately just like it does without this making my generator not able to run it. no instructions included at all but does have hardware less the mounting tape

The instructions are on the units cover, if you don’t have basic electrical knowledge don’t install it yourself! I needed my small teardrop AC to start from a 1k generator and it would not without this, now it starts without kicking off line.

Took a little bit of research to figure out how to wire this up correctly as the included information was only kinda helpful. Once up and rolling however it works fine. I can run on a smaller generator now. You may want to have some extra parts on hand depending on where you intend to mount the box, I added a couple of minor things like a grommet and better wire connectors (Wagos are where it's at) and things like that but once you figure it out it's not that hard.

Acabo de instalarlo así que estoy en fases de prueba, no tiene más instrucciones que la imagen en la tapa del equipo, escasas aunque tenga en cuenta que cada modelo de aire acondicionado es diferente. Tampoco confíe en las instrucciones de otros fabricantes similares con los mismos planos, las marcas de aires acondicionados no son claros en los detalles y pueden variar mucho entre los diferentes modelos así que no es un problema sólo de este producto.Hice la instalación en un Dometic Penguin II 15k BTU, soy un tipo de mucha fe y por la visto creo que funcionará buen tiempo, por el precio lo recomiendo, parece bien construido y funciona como debería aunque sólo apreciación sonora, no he medido nada. Cuando tenga tiempo haré las comprobaciones y actualizaré la reseña, por el momento tiene 5 estrellas.

Wired it up to 13k btu rooftop unit. turned on AC unit while plugged into 30A RV outlet and it worked great. Plugged RV into my 2000 watt inverter generator. AC fired up no issues and ran great. Couldn't believe the little generator started it up. It always kicks into overload if I try even running on normal, not economy mode. However that's where the good ends. It never worked again. Unwired it and AC runs fine. The soft start box is dead. Pretty disappointed.

And no instructions did watch some videos on YouTube but I'm not mechanically inclined so had to return it

Quiets your rv ac down. Was a plus I wasn't expecting. Installed two of these units on different air conditioners and was easy used the directions from softstartrv.
