Tetra Pleco Fish Food Spirulina Wafers 42g, 100% Vegetable Premium Fish Food for Bottom Feeding Fish

Finding a sinking food that your bottom feeders actually like without turning your clean tank cloudy can be a bit of a nightmare. I bought these spirulina wafers for my pleco, and they have been an absolute hit. The wafers sink straight to the bottom immediately, so you don't have to worry about surface fish stealing them all on the way down. They hold their shape remarkably well in the water, allowing the pleco to graze naturally over time rather than the wafer just disintegrating into mush. Since switching to these, my pleco’s colour looks fantastic, and he actively searches the tank floor the minute these drop in. Even my other fish try to nibble on them! Pros: • Sinks quickly straight to the bottom. • Highly nutritious with spirulina for great fish health. Cons: • None—it’s a staple for any pleco owner.

Reasonable price and my fish seem to like them

Used these in a 120L planted tank with bristlenose plecos, shrimp, and snails—wafer sinks slow, holds shape, and doesn’t cloud the water. Fish swarm it fast, and shrimp graze over time. Ideal for herbivores and omnivores needing algae-rich nutrition. I’ve used them in fry tanks and community setups—no mess, no leftovers if portioned right. Wafers stay intact long enough for slow grazers to get their fill. No bloating, no weird smell, and no water issues. 🔍 Specs & Features Weight: 150g Type: Spirulina-rich algae wafers Form: Flat discs—slow-sinking Use: Daily or supplemental feeding for bottom-feeders Compatibility: Plecos, otos, shrimp, snails, mollies, guppies 🧪 Performance Water Clarity: No clouding if not overfed Feeding Behaviour: Encourages natural grazing Tablet Integrity: Holds shape—no instant crumble Smell: Mild algae scent—no chemical stink 👍 Pros ✅ High spirulina content—great for colour and digestion ✅ Slow-sinking—ideal for bottom feeders ✅ No mess—clean finish in most tanks ✅ Loved by plecos, shrimp, and grazers ✅ Long shelf life—easy to store 👎 Cons ❌ Not ideal for carnivores—low protein ❌ Can attract snails if population’s high ❌ Wafers can be overkill in small tanks—portion carefully ❌ Slight algae smell—may linger on fingers 🧭 Personal Verdict If you’ve got bottom feeders that need clean veggie nutrition, these Tetra wafers earn their spot. I’ve used them across planted tanks and fry setups—no drama, just happy fish and clear water. Proper stash-ready gear for anyone feeding smart.

Fish love this topping off their cheese on toast. Got the fattest fish you can get, soon be ready for the pan. Mmmmmmm.

Brilliant fish food

I switched to these from a different, more expensive brand. These seem to get eaten more quickly, sink straight away, and don't go squishy in the bottom of the tank. I will continue to use.
