Great question. All activated carbons contain phosphates no matter what they claim. This is due to the trapped ash deep within the carbon's pores. We use a phosphate free cleaning solution to deep clean the macro and micro pores or our activated carbon. This process removes a tremendous amount of additional trapped ash. The nature of activated carbon with it deep pores makes impossibly at this time to remove all the ash. When using in dry situations, can these pellets be “recharged”/dried out again by placing in the sun?

30 years in the carbon/filtration business. NO. That reactivation in sunlight is pure BS. There is a tiny bit of fact in exposing carbon to UV to destroy adsorbed organics but it has nothing to do with consumer carbon use. You'll spend more money trying to heat up used carbon than it costs to replace it. No, the oven at home is not hot enough to volatilize the trapped organics. This is all really old aquarium lore...pre-internet actually.

Can i use this in a reactor instead of a mesh bag on my saltwater tank.

Does the job!

Looks like a super product. The water in my aquarium looks perfectly clear. Be sure to wash the fines and drop the bag into an area where the water has to circulate through the carbon.

Amazing

I am so happy with this product. It has been a nightmare trying to keep the water in my fish tank clean and odorless. I rinsed this product under luke warm water for 3 minutes in it's mesh bag before placing it in the filter. It cleared my tank and eliminated the odor in about 12 hours. Will definitely use this forever.

My mistake

I purchased this product to add to my aquarium filters that seem to be barely holding any, this is a very fine product that you shouldn’t add to tetra filters. It works great with the mesh bag it comes with.
