PP920 Junior Glockenspiel in a Case, Red

I bought this as a birthday gift for my Grandson, age 6, and had looked at several other similar items which would be right for a child, but most of them were really xylophones and seemed to be intended for younger children. Then I found this, and thought that it looked simple enough for a beginner, and I also liked the fact that it is in a case (which has little fold up legs underneath).I tried it out to see how it sounded, and it really has a lovely pitch, not tinny or off-key at all! So I was really pleased. The 'keyboard' is also marked with the letters that correspond to the notes, again making it simple to follow. If I could make any suggestions, I would say that a little music book would be nice - I have bought one separately - & perhaps a version with 'flat' keys for more proficient children, this one has the main musical scale keys and also 'sharp' keys, which is fine for a beginner, but obviously as the child becomes more proficient, they might well want to play music which involves using sharps and flats.Overall I give it ten out of ten - it is a really lovely instrument and I am sure my little Grandson will get hours of educational and entertaining instrument :)
