Does this Aerator collect the plugs or do they fall on the lawn

The idea is that the plugs collect in the tray with raised edges above the hollow tines. Unfortunately, with my soil at least, they tend to block the tines, and i have to push them out with a piece of metal rod. I use it only in very badly compacted areas as it is easier to use a garden fork in the traditional way in mildly affected parts of the lawn.
