Great. Heat really isn't a problem
This honestly is amazing, and I wish I knew about vapor distillers like this sooner. The water tastes just like bottled water. I saw complaints about the heat, but it's honestly not an issue at all (barely warm to the touch even after running for a few hours, and the heat to surrounding surfaces is very minimal). Perhaps this is a newer model, but I have other appliances that get a lot warmer (like the slow cooker and instant pot). A gallon of water (4 liters) is a lot, and the fact it only takes a little over 3 hours is amazing. We set a timer on our phone for only 3:20 min to ensure it doesn't boil down to nothing (easier to clean that way). My only complaint is having to unplug everything to clean it, but it's only a very minor hassle. A little bit of white vinegar mixed with water can be used to get any residue mineral deposits off (just let it soak for an hour, and can also do a cycle to clean the upper part too). Overall, it was well worth the cost (pays for itself within a couple of weeks). Would highly recommend this version in particular (with the glass pot - it's really thick glass).

Works fantastic
I got tired of buying distilled water for my CPAP and room humidifier. I got tired of wasting so many plastic bottles. I looked at several distillers on Amazon and saw a lot with mixed reviews, mostly that they leaked or rusted. I saw the reviews for this one were pretty positive so I ordered it. I mean it is Amazon so if it didn’t live up to the reviews it could go back. Well, it more than lived up. The instructions were simple. It was sent in a well packed box with no damage. It was simple to install the handle on the carafe. I filled it with hot water and we were off to the races. It took about four hours to distill a gallon of water. It was crystal clear. The fan is a little noisy but not enough to interfere with listening to conversations or the television. It does heat up the room a bit but that dissipates quickly after the process is complete. It did so well that I use it for water to make coffee and to use in my electric kettle. That saves my keurig and kettle from getting hard water deposits also. The distiller does get hard water deposits but once a month I use three tablespoons of the citric acid powder, fill it with water and let it heat up, without the top distiller coil mind you, and after letting it boiled for thirty minutes the hard water deposits disappear and the main body looks brand new, with the stainless steel all shiny again. I have made about 25 gallons so far with no problems at all. I really love this distiller. I highly recommend it.

Great Product, died after 6 months.
The appliance worked as advertised and produced a lot of distilled water. It died today after approximately 6 months. It will trip the circuit breaker on any outlet I attempt to run it through, even when it's the only device on the circuit.

Easy to use. No more hauling 1-gallon jugs from the grocery store. A++
I'm very happy with this machine. I hated hauling home 1-gallon distilled water jugs from the grocery store. I use this water for my CPAP machine. I believe it makes 3 liters of distilled water in one batch. I then store the water in a one gallon jug which lasts me about 1 month. Be aware that you must clean out all of the mineral residue that accumulates in the pot after you make distilled water. Everything cleans up perfectly when you use the cleaning crystals that come with the machine. A variety of venders sell this type of cleaning solution so be aware you will need to buy more of this in the future. A++

Good distiller, very useful if you need a lot of distilled water
This is a good water distiller slightly let down by the carafe. Pros: - The distiller works as described! Get a good activated charcoal filter, then let it make you almost endless distilled water. - The distiller is pretty easy to clean. A little bit of cleaning vinegar can help with the mineral deposits and the burned rust spots that appear at the bottom. - The carafe is glass, so no microplastics in your distilled water! Things to be aware of: - The distiller generates a decent amount of noise, about on par with a loud bathroom vent fan. This is expected, as it uses a fan to cool the distiller steam. - The distiller generates a decent amount of heat. If it is run in a large space or with an open door, this should cause minimal problems. If you attempt to run it in a bathroom with the door closed and no ventilation fan, the bathroom will soon get as hot as a hot day outside. - The distiller can hold more water than the carafe. Use the carafe to fill the distiller instead of filling to the fill line. - The carafe is glass, so don't drop it! It'll hurt to drop it on your feet, and could crack if you abuse it. The bad: - The carafe gasket for the lid leaks. While I have re-positioned it several times, water sometimes spills out near the handle as I carry it. Since it doesn't leak near the front of the carafe where the pour spout is located, I suspect that the metal lid doesn't fit as snug against the gasket and glass as it could. To avoid this, I don't fill up the carafe as full as it could go. I use the distilled water in my CPAP and home humidifier. The humidifier can take between 1 to 4 gallons of water a day, and I'd rather not use our hard tap water in it. I have not tried drinking the distilled water or using it for nasal rinses, but I expect it'll be perfectly fine for those purposes. I reuse some of the grocery store gallon-sized bottles to keep a reserved of distilled water from the distiller, and no longer need to purchase from the grocery store. Assuming 2 gallons used per day, this distiller made back its cost within a month. Overall, this is a worthwhile purchase, especially if you find yourself going through a lot of distilled water!

Super easy and works great!
Cannot speak more highly of this distiller, it's super easy to use and has held up to multiple uses in one day. Takes about 4 hours for 4 liters but you can start it and leave it without any concern .Cleaning is super simple and taking off water build up takes no time. Just be sure not to get outside wet otherwise you need to let it dry before you can use it again.

I really like this distiller
I needed distilled water for several devices; it had become very expensive to buy distilled water at the store at one or two gallons a week. The unit generates heat naturally, but it's not very noisy and looks good out on the counter. Once I got this unit, I started drinking the distilled water and using it for coffee, tea and other beverages and it's improved the flavor of beverages that we as the water into. Having the distilled water has cut the problem with calcium buildup in my coffee pot, water pick and other water-based devices in the house. The water that it generates turns the tap water, that is almost undrinkable, at my house very enjoyable.

Water stinks, tastes bad
Definitely filters the water, you will see terrifying gunk left over in the base. But the water stinks and tastes weird. It even stinks after distilling water that was previously distilled!?!?

A bit noisy and hot, but easy to use and great end product
This is a great gadget to have in the home. My plants get sick if I use tap water, so distilling my own water saves me a fortune as opposed to buying jugs of water. Pros: -It is alot bigger than I anticipated, and actually does hold a full 4L of water -Easy to set up, just fill with water, plug and press the button -Fairly easy to clean, as you can remove the cords and wash the tank -Comes with a small container of cleaning powder to clean it -This particular model is all stainless steel/glass, the only plastic is on the outter edge of the lid which does not come in contact with water at any given time. So no leeched chemicals. Cons: -The fan isnt obscenely loud, but its about the same as having a window AC running. We are accustomed to it because we have white noise for our son, but it is slightly problematic when you have guests over -It definitely heats up the room. In the summer, that means that you dont want to run it until after 10pm when the temperature drops and you can open the windows to save your utility bill and your own comfort. -the "lid" for the glass pot is a pain in the rear end to remove. Between the gasket and the odd notching in the glass, it suctions on and hardly wants to twist. Fortunately, since only clean distilled water goes in, I dont really bother opening it, and just pour the distilled water into a jug before capping it and putting it away. -the "cap" on the lid is just loose lay, and can easily get knocked off, so it doesnt really protect your water from contaminents unless you keep it far out of reach so it wont get bumped. Definitely not airtight. -it doesnt come with the charcoal filters they want you to put in it. Not even one. I ran mine without them and its fine, but if you want a REALLY crisp taste, youre going to have to buy some sachets of charcoal seperately. All in all, it was a worthwhile purchase for me, I love it and will definitely get my use out of it. I expect to have recouped the cost of it in comparison to jugged water within 4.6months on just the water I use for my plants, let alone other uses like homemade cleaning products, better quality food and drinks, and just drinking water in general. Update: 3 Months in and this thing is a GODSEND! This is the only water we use for drinking, juice mixes, watering plants, etc. I couldnt imagine going back to buying blue jugs twice a week or (gag) using tap water. I run it once a day, sometimes more sometimes less, and store any extra in my blue jug in the meantime. That cleaning powder is something else, it works like magic to get that nasty buildup off the bottom and the white film along the sides. A little goes a long way, I still havent even used up what came with it. If you go to strong, it smells a bit bleachy, so less is definitely more. Kinda wanna buy some to clean my other stainless steel appliances- just sprinkle it on, add a bit of hot water, and let it sit for 5mins. Comes off with a basic kitchen scrubbie. Highly recommend!!

Enjoying clean water
I didn't believe that even drinking water bought at supermarket has some impurities till I bought this distiller. It is working perfectly. Just try, you won't believe what you are going to find out. The only issue is that the glass bottle was broken. I don't know whether the supplier can sell it alone.

FIRE HAZARD…DO NOT BUY!
This is a warning to anyone buying this distiller. It has an electrical component fault that can result in the on switch melting and perhaps even starting on fire. We purchased this last September. It gets weekly use. Last nite my wife came upstairs to the smell of melting and smoking plastic. We found this just in time. Do not leave it on when you are sleeping or not at home. It could cost you everything! Notice the burn marks on the upper left portion of the distiller body and the melted plastic on the corresponding corner of the on button. Photo shows the underside of the reset button.
