Q: Why are these so expensive at $15.48 here on Amazon but on Walmart.com they're only $6.12?

Third party. They can sell for any price. It can be very handy on a product like this that's hard to find however the 3rd party is ripping folks off. I can't imagine he/she is selling any. I understand the 3rd party must make a profit but geez! I feed Standlee horse cubes. $14 for FORTYlbs @ Tractor Supply or Rural King. If you don't have those stores most all feed stores carry them. The cubes are slightly smaller than these "bakes". Here are the ingredients. Timothy hay & Alfalfa. Its 60% Tim & 40 Alfalfa so low enough in protein for adult bunnies but high enough because of the Alfalfa for young kits aka baby buns. Their the exact same thing just only the two grasses. This is just regular pasture hay so they can claim its made of 20 grasses. Its a good product but even Walmart's price is too much for someone rescuing. My friends who only have inside pet rabbits have switched over due to less mess & much less allergens in the house. Best bonus is rabbits play & toss the cubes PLUS its not wasted because it can't fall thru the wire. My vet said the cubes plus 20% cream leafy veggies with a piece of tiny fruit is really ALL they need as long as they have good teeth & not elderly & can't chew well. Plus it can be a great for most all farm animals. Chicken farmers next door add warm h20 to it & make a thick porridge. The chickens go nuts & its so healthy. Its in the horse section. 40lbs & big mostly green bag. Made by Standlee or StanLee. You can look at it on Amazon but its pricy on here. Just $14 @ the store. I hope this helps you! Good luck. Q: How many bales in one package

It depends on the package. They are tight pressed rolls of hay. Depending on how pressed they are and where they break is how many pieces. We don't buy them anymore because they changed their process and our pigs no longer like it.
