This jarkey works fast and easy; exactly what you need for difficult lids! I have ordered this product two different times. The first time I received a red one, the second time I ordered 2 and received a blue one and yellow one. Giving the second ones away as gifts. Excellent product, well designed, and worth it!

This is the second time I have ordered this opener, the first being for myself and this one was for my daughter. This is absolutely the way to go when having difficulties opening a jar. It is quick, simple, and always does the job required. An absolute winner!

I can't remember where I first saw this product, but it looked too good to be true. It was under $10, so I decided to test it out. My parents are having trouble opening jars. It's so easy to use. It basically helps pop the air tight seal so you can unscrew the jar with ease. It's comfortable to hold, and it opens any size jar that I've tried. I ended up keeping the one I ordered, and ordered a second one for them.

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to open jars as I lose gripping strength with age, so I read reviews and rankings of jar openers, and bought the most highly recommended, a gizmo from a well respected maker of great kitchen tools. It resembled the offspring of a nutcracker and a putty knife, and certainly looked like it was ready to do the job. But it still required strength to grip and turn. After trying to use it on several recalcitrant jars, I was left with jars with lids scratched but still firmly sealed. So I returned it. I needed help getting to that satisfying pop sound of a jar lid seal breaking, and realized that pop was reminiscent of the sound of a cola bottle cap being removed, so I looked through my drawers for an old bottle opener, but didn’t find one. Then looking through more jar openers I spotted this Jarkey, basically an oversized bottle opener! So I ordered it. Et voila! It works perfectly. Use it like a bottle opener, and with just a gentle tug, even those pesky rao’s jar seals instantly give that satisfying pop, leaving a lid that is easily twisted open, and easily reclosed. Perfect!

Jarkey does not "turn" the lid. It "pops" (lifts) the lid from a tight seal. THEN you can hand turn. AND SO VERY EASILY!! For those type jar lids this is an EXCELLENT tool. But, there was no option to choose a color. I will definitely keep though! The price is right! Thank you!

Handy little gadget when the tops won’t turn woks great

Un outil d'une simplicité enfantine et d'une efficacité idéale. Léger, pas encombrant, trouve facilement sa place dans le tiroir des accessoires de cuisine. Il ne déforme pas les couvercles qui peuvent resservir pour des conserves maison. J'en ai enfin fini d'ouvrir les pots de confitures et autres ... avec le manche d'une cuiller. Réalisé en plastique mais parait quant même bien solide. A avoir absolument.

Cumple exactamente con su cometido. Desde que lo tengo, mi vida en la cocina es más facil. Cuantas veces te peleas con un tarro porque no le puedes abrir, y lo intentas con el cuchillo, dando golpecitos, etc. hasta que giras la tapa con tanta fuerza que una parte de lo que hay dentro termina en la encimera? pues desde que tengo este abretarros, eso se ha acabado. Es muy sencillo pero a la vez indispensable en la cocina. Ya he comprado varios, porque los anteriores se los han llevado mi madre, mi suegra y alguna que otra amiga, jjeje.. Ha sido todo un acierto. Lo volveria a comprar sin dudarlo.

Easy to use

Okay, so I’ve only used this a couple of times so far, but even in that short a time it’s proven to be better than any other jar openers I’ve had. For instance, last year I bought one of those fan-shaped, grip-the-lid openers that have so many high ratings. After using it multiple times I found that I was constantly resorting to my old method (run jar lid under hot water, tap it constantly with a kitchen utensil, and pray that it opened) all because the fan-shaped jar opener failed to work. (As an FYI, I’m a 64-year-old female with beginning stages of arthritis in my hands.) The Jarkey, however, proved to be a VAST improvement. I apply it in one or two spots on a difficult lid and voilà!!, the lid opens easily. It manages to break the seal of jar lids efficiently, and without effort on my part, and leaves me with the confidence of knowing that I can now purchase bottled products (such as spaghetti sauce or pickles) and not have to worry about whether or not I can actually open them. I highly recommend this product.

Works as intended. I don't have to ask my boyfriend to open jars for me anymore and now I get to (jokingly) flash my biceps at him. The Jarkey can even open jars my boyfriend can't. I also purchased one for my mother a while back and she uses it all the time. Even with arthritis in her fingers she can easily open jars with this.
