Recommended by a Groomer and this product did not disappoint!
I recommend this product 100%We recently adopted a 1.5 yr old Great Pyranese and the poor guy has some pretty bad matting going on. I reached out to a groomer and long time Great PYR owner who recommended Paw Brothers Stainless Steel Blade Dematting Tool. I was so excited when I got it in the mail as you can see...the seller's tag is still on it. I used it before I even took review photos. This dematter has been AMAZING! This is our third day having it and as you can see the bag of fur in one of the pictures... we have had 6 of those bags full of what I have gotten off of him. We still have more sessions to go.I would say the only downfall is I wish there was one that both myself (right-handed) and my left-handed husband could use.It is easy to hold and it does the job as gently as possible. The handle grip is well made and my hand doesn't slip. The thumb placement can be used to get a better grab when dealing with heavier matting. The blades are adequately sharp and seem tight in place with no movement.I recommend giving yourself and your pup a break after about 20-30 minutes just so their sensitive skin and your hand can rest. Always wash your tools when done. I hadn't cleaned the de-matting brush yet in the pictures. Wipes really easily but mind the blades. It comes with a little blade cover..Use it!

Highly recommend this de-matting tool! Just do not let any dogs accidently step on it, it will cut them! This tool has helped me multiple occasions on various dog breeds at work! I do recommend shaving your dog down if you have thick mats/ knots on your dog(s) that are to close to the skin and if you can't get a comb to go through all of the hair of your pup with ease!

Finally, an answer!
Wow!My dog, Clark, is (mostly) a short haired German Shepherd. I had a pure short haired GS 20 years ago and yes, his grooming was difficult in general, and Clark is no different. However, Clark develops Tangles (very intentionally capitalized). The worst two places are about a half inch in front of his ear openings. I could use my fingers and run my fingers into the area and small hairs would rise to the surface and begin covering his face like a slow motion fountain, if he wasn’t too bothered by me doing so at the time. Still, all of that hair coming out had almost a negligible effect on the lump of hair I could feel under his topcoat. After two years and hundreds of dollars spent on various brushes, this is a game changer. The hair comes much quicker. This brush grabs the hair and creates resistance to pushing through. Somewhat surprisingly, it also bothers him the least.I was feeling desperate. SO glad I bought this.Helluva design!!!

They get the tangles out!
Tried other grooming tools to dematt our cat with no success. These however did the job well. Only downside is that they are designed to only work with your right hand.

Wow, game changer!
The poodle boy is prone to matting, we live in the country, he is white and ends up needing frequent baths, which leads to more mats. This thing is like a miracle. I can slide under a mat and then sort of work it back and forth and it cuts right through without taking huge hunks of hair out. Just be careful though, it is really sharp, and while the design keeps you from hurting the dog, it is easy to slice your own finger.

Sort of good?!
I really don’t know how to explain it. It works ish. I’m sure that’s not super helpful but I think maybe for more difficult matting seek professional help.

Good tool
If you have a dog that has hair that mats easily, this is a great tool to have. Spray hair with detangler spray first an let that set in just a bit. Using the detangling spray will help to save losing as much hair and also helps the dematting comb to get through the hair easier. My pups appreciate anything that helps to demat their hair without pulling too much! - I do, too!

Definitely worth it
I have an aussie that has thick coarse hair that gets super matted in the blink of an eye. I hadn't found a single tool that worked until this one! It was super smooth and my puppet didn't seem to mind me using it so I know it didn't hurt him. 10/10
