Studio interface
Great product for interfacing a small studio. I just need a pro- set-up! Great value for the price!

Way better than the Gen 1 Scarlett 2i2
The media could not be loaded. I had to use Revo Uninstaller to clean up the registry and all the previous Focusrite files to make the drivers work, but I was recording in 10 minutes from opening the box. I use this as basically an external sound card for video games, chatting on Discord, recording voice-overs, and also making music with Ableton Live 11. Works way WAY better with BIAS FX II than the Gen 1 Scarlett 2i2 did, and as a bonus, the front-facing interface looks cooler on the desk too.Recording-wise, the input is ultra-low latency which is great, and the output is much clearer than the Gen 1. For a solo musician that records one instrument at a time and needs phantom power for the mic, I think this is basically all you need.

Better than any for the price! And USB C!!!!
Small, quality, handles dynamics well enough! And super super easy to set up and use.I use it on AKG P420 and sometimes monitor with a Focal Clear headphone. (Sometimes the treble region on mintor is a bit sibilant to sensitive folk)

Software is important!
At first when opening this audio interface and setting everything up, I had trouble getting the audio to work properly. The audio from my computer was looping back through the microphone. The fix is to install the software and drivers from Focusrite's site and register the device. This has cleared everything up and now it works perfectly. The cable it came with is a tad short, but works fine. I am using this with a Presonus PD-70 microphone and a pair of DT 990 pros. The free software bundled with the interface was a huge bonus as I had not seen that when ordering. Very highly recommend, just make sure to read the paperwork that comes with it!

I DON'T KNOW!
I'm sooooo used to my 3rd gen, that I don't know what to think of the 4th yet! I think I'm just emotionally attached to my 3rd gen after years of using it. I need a lot more time with it, but I can say it does sound smoother with better recording quality. All in all, this is a good interface-- I especially love the outputs in the back, the updated front panel, and the separate headphone adjuster.Summed up, the sound quality is great-- it's just a little different than the 3rd gen! Worth a try if you're contemplating an upgrade.
