Expensive but worth every penny
If you are going to be in a situation or environment where your not sure if a water source is safe to drink this is a good option for filtering it to a very safe and clear standard,it can turn dirty puddle water into bottle quality in minutes and will handle up to 20,000 litres depending on how clear or dirty the water source.

Been after one of these for ages, finally decided to get one. They have an excellent reputation, especially amongst overland travellers, who swear by them for being able to give clean drinking water from the most unreliable of sources.
