Take Root: How the Beatitudes Reveal the Astonishing Nature of God's Garden

A profound but accessible presentation on the Christian life
I’m on my second reading of this book, and I continue to find fresh insights for my life and relationship with the Lord. The author uses the beatitudes to explain and explore what Jesus wants for us in our Christian lives - both to find our contentment in God AND to participate in his redeeming work on earth. My kids would not readily understand what I mean in that sentence, which is one reason we need this book! Miller explains truths presented in the beatitudes with clarity, simplicity, and relevance for her intended audience (teens and tweens). I have purchased it for my tween and teen nieces, nephews, and my own children.

Wonderful book!
This is a beautifully written book. I have never fully understood the Beatitudes until I read this book. I bought to for my granddaughters, but we are all reading it together. My daughter loves it too. I bought the study guide along with the book. Both are wonderful.

My teens, husband and I LOVE it - all need our own copies!
Profound truths, beautifully written, engaging for teens and adults. My 15 yo received Take Root as a gift from a friend. It caught my attention as this book became the first thing she chose every morning -even before picking up her phone! I ordered my own copy and couldn’t put it down. My husband and son are now enjoying reading it. The author, Laura Miller, conveys deep Biblical concepts in such a creative, fun and compelling way - relatable for all ages. So great to have a book the whole family loves to read and talk about.

Highly recommend!
Love this book! What a neat and new way to see the beatitudes. My 15 year old daughter and I are reading it together, an easy, enjoyable read. You will learn about the beatitudes, and how they apply to our daily walk with Jesus in todays world. We’ve been encouraged learning about God’s use of trees throughout the Bible. Such a neat visualization to see Him as the gardener; using us, molding us, continually drawing us to Him. Highly recommend for your whole family.
