Tropical Depression: A Billy Knight Thriller (Billy Knight Thrillers, 1)

Excellent gritty crime novel. Reads very similar to the Jack Reached style books, hard to believe this was written 20 years ago. I had never been a fan of first person style novels until I read Lindsay's Dexter series, and this was right up my alley. Crime driven novel, first person point of view, gritty old cop turned fisherman in Key West (my favorite vacation spot)... What's not to love?

Of course not as good as the Dexter series. Not much is.Lindsay brings about the same texture to his characters though - morose but heroic; reluctant helpers; the only real difference is this one gets the girl at the end.Ok read. I struggled through some slow spots, but, overall, not regrettable.

Great book, would give 5 stars but condition poor. Front and back covers have very sticky substance on outside, like exposed to some kind of resin or questionable atmosphere, possibly vaping? Anyway, have tried to clean but still present. I wash my hands every time I'm done reading ...

This is the perfect travel novel - not to deep, a good bit of action & suspense & a romance to boot. I prefer the sinister plots of Dexter, but I enjoyed this book and will read the sequel. Jeff Lindsey taps into the frustration of every day life, that little part of us that longs to be homicidal, for that I appreciate his books.

Pretty good, not as good as Dexter. Bought the book hoping for it to reign me in like the Dexter series. It was still a good read, but not in the same ballpark as Dexter.

If you're fan of the Dexter Series you'll love it! Some of the characters are a bit over the top, but I guess some will be present in the follow up. Linday's witty prose is very much present, not as polished as in his later works, but quite pleasant still.

Jeff Lindsay is great. I miss the Dexter series

Was quite good bit difficult to follow plot/storyline..I prefer darker noir Scandinavian thrilles

It's not Dexter but no less enjoyable. A few less killings but Billy is still a dark knight. Not disappointed.

If you love the Dexter books, you'll love this.
