A very good product that does exactly what it says on the tin.
I do a lot of the cooking so a peeler for me is an essential kitchen tool and this peeler is a replacement for our old peeler which suddenly went AWOL the other day and had to replaced immediately. After searching through dozens of offerings, I figured that an established company like Lakeland would not sell inferior quality goods such as a peeler and that is exactly what I found. It's well packaged and out of the packaging you could tell immediately that it was light but sturdy and extremely sharp and in use it initially took some getting used to as the sharpness made it so effortless to peel such as carrots and potatoes when compared to the now disappeared peeler that I had to look twice to make sure that it had actually worked. On the potatoes and carrots I've peeled with it so far, it almost felt like it wasn't working but it was! The old peeler took off far more with each pass than this peeler which meant the old one had more resistance when using it. This takes of far less meaning less wastage and effortless peeling.. The ergonomics of the peeler are good and very similar to the old one so handling was actually very familiar. As I've said it handles well and peels effortlessly which makes light work of peeling such as potatoes unlike the old and rather blunted peeler but I was used to that peeler and worried that its replacement wouldn't handle so well but I need not have worried as it's a perfect replacement. The old one was also a cheap plastic handled peeler, this one is stainless steel and very robust and I would figure it to be dishwasher safe so as a product I would certainly recommend buying it. I'm used to handling extremely sharp woodwork tools so the only word of caution I would give would be aware of just how sharp this peeler is and handle it carefully otherwise you'll probably be digging out the sticking plasters quite quickly. All in all a very good product that I'd thoroughly recommend.

Perfect
So sharp it just slides and takes a very thin peel with basically no resistance. It's not rocket science but with so much cheap tat out there it's nice to see something simple and effective. Definitely worth a buy. One small gripe I have is it isn't the widest so for potatoes you're constantly peeling little slithers towards yourself and it can be awkward, I think they have a sideways mounted blade peeler that would be handier for that. A small gripe but the product is great.

Fantastic peeler - but itโs so sharp be careful!
This is an amazing peeler. Itโs incredibly sharp (more about this in a minute) and slices thin peels so easily that itโs hardly any effort at all. I havenโt tried it on a butternut squash yet but the manufacturer says it will peel even that - so I have no doubt they are correct. I have always been used to a โsidewaysโ peeler in the past so I need to learn the technique for using a โY shapeโ. Especially as the first time I used it I sliced my fingers badly. I know that makes me sound an idiot, but this thing is SO sharp I didnโt know I was doing it! So be very VERY careful if you want to keep your finger tips! But injuries apart this is a great peeler and would recommend it to anyone - iโll Just have wear an oven glove on the hand iโm holding the vegetable to peel. This thing is Japanese Mandolin dangerous.

Not as sharp as the blurb makes out
Bought this to supplement/replace some very cheap "pound shop" ones after trying a similar one at my sons over xmas. His was razor sharp (possibly an old lakeland one) and was effortless. This is still nicely sharp and does the job, but isn't "hair splitting" razor sharp. better than the poundland ones but not totally blown away by it. All steel, so at least it can be recycled at the end of its life. Not the most comfortable to hold/use but more than adequate for the job.
